Responsibilities
- Clear knowledge of work procedures and ability to work independently.
- Deliver drawings to desired quality standards and according to mutually agreed timelines with the client.
- Communicate confidently with client or foreign counterpart.
- Work in a team to deliver projects on time.
- Attend meetings with technical leads.
- Design electrical systems (concept, FEED and detailed design) including SLDs, AC/DC SLDs, layouts, cable schedules, interconnections, specifications, bulk MTO, internal and external electrification, SITC of sub‑stations, transformer installation, air‑conditioning systems, fire‑fighting equipment, fire alarms, lifts, pumps, road lighting, power and control cables, security systems, solar water heating, earthing, lightning, containment, and indoor lighting.
- Perform equipment sizing calculations (transformers, generators, HV/LV cable, AC UPS, batteries, capacitor banks, conductor sizing, fault level, illumination, earthing and lightning protection).
- Apply practical knowledge to create and review layouts for indoor/outdoor substations, trench/tray, lighting, earthing and lightning protection.
- Prepare technical specifications and data sheets for electrical equipment (transformers, DG sets, HT/LT switchgear, compact substations, UPS, batteries, distribution boards, lifts).
- Review vendor drawings and calculations for all electrical equipment.
- Evaluate technical bids and documentation.
- Monitor installation and ensure smooth operation of all electro‑mechanical services.
- Resolve design issues and coordinate with project leads.
- Plan, schedule, conduct and communicate work with team members across all design aspects.
- Attend client meetings for technical clarifications.
- Handle challenging workloads with short notice changes.
- Utilize MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, clash detection, Dialux, Amtech, MS Outlook and MS Office.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in engineering design of Building & Infrastructure projects, including datacenters, substations, hotels, resorts, hospitals, universities, townships, high‑rises, malls and commercial buildings.
- Hands‑on experience with domestic and international energy‑efficiency and building codes.
- Overseas project experience is an added advantage.
- Proficient in design of electrical systems from concept through detailed design.
- Strong knowledge of equipment sizing and design loads.
- Experience with vendor drawing review and technical bid evaluation.
- Good communication and IT skills.
