Job summary

Lincoln Motor Company in Chennai is seeking an Associate Engineer – Electrical Wiring Harness to join our Global team. You will verify and validate hatch harness routings using Vismockup, 3DX, and E2KS, supporting GPDS gateways from UxV0 to FDJ.

You will oversee design verification, ensure drawings meet Ford global standards, and drive on-time deliverables. You will work with D&R Engineers, suppliers, and vehicle Architecture teams to resolve issues, validate BOMs, and push P-Release in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Automobile/Electrical/Electronics) or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Automotive Product Development and DPA1 assessments for Wiring.
• Experience with KPAC assessments and P-Release for Wiring Harness in Ford environments preferred.
• Proficiency with Auros (E2KS) and CAD/Visualization tools (CATIA V5, Vis-Mockup, 3DX).
• Knowledge of PLM systems (Teamcenter), FEDEBOM and CDHR standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver DPA1 assessments of Wiring Harness for global and regional programs.
• Validate BOMs using FEDEBOM and CDHR to assess design complexity.
• Create markups in Vismockup/3DX for issue resolution.
• Support GPDS gateway milestones ensuring KPAC assessments meet deliverables.
• Integrate with PLM (Teamcenter) for P-Release alignment with FEDEBOM.
• Collaborate with D&R Engineers, suppliers, and CAD teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure parts release complies with Design and FECDS standards.
• Participate in innovation to optimize visualization workflows.

Job description

As an Associate Engineer – Electrical Wiring Harness, you will be a key contributor to our Global team in Chennai, reporting to the CAD Manager LL6. This role is critical to the product development cycle, specifically supporting GPDS gateways from UxV0 to FDJ. You will be responsible for Verifying and Validating Harness routings for complete vehicle using a suite of specialized tools including Vismockup, 3DX, and E2KS. You will be responsible for the entire design Verification and Validation: from analysing FEDE/E2KS/C3PNG, then P-Release parts in FORD database. Additionally, you will oversee the compatibility of drawings, ensuring all deliverables meet Ford’s global standards and timelines.

• Deliver DPA1 assessments of Wiring Harness commodity for global and region-specific programs.
• BOM Validation: Utilize FEDEBOM, CDHR to understand design complexity before performing assessments.
• Markup Creation : Identify issues based on requirements in Vismockup / 3DX, create markup of issues identified for issue resolution.
• Gateway / Milestone Support: Ensure all KPAC assessments and reassessments are performed and meets GPDS deliverables.
• PLM Integration: Ensure P-Release of parts are done in Team Centre and aligned with FEDEBOM.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate with D&R Engineers / Suppliers / Vehicle Architecture / CAD integration teams to resolve DPA1 issues, BOM mismatches or Sign off creation.
• Quality Control: Ensure every part getting released must meet Design and FECDS requirements.
• Innovation: Actively participate in efficiency initiatives, such as transitioning to new visualization tools or automating illustration workflows.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Automobile/Electrical/Electronics) or related disciplines.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Automotive Product Development and experience and understanding of working in DPA1 assessments for Wiring.
• Proven experience of performing KPAC assessments and P-Release for Wiring Harness within a Ford environment is highly preferred.

Functional/Technical Skills

• Software Proficiency: Auros (E2KS).
• CAD/Visualization: Catia V5, and Vis-Mockup and 3DX ready.
• Data Management: Good Knowledge of Teamcenter or equivalent PLM, understanding Control Models based on FEDEBOM complexity and CDHR.
• Vehicle Architecture: Good knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems, sub-systems.
• Requirements Understandings: Awareness of Wiring Harness requirement standards and understanding of DPA1 requirements.
• Quality Tools: Knowledge of FMEAs and engineering quality standards.
