Job summary

Xylem is seeking an Application Engineer (Disinfection Products) for its Global Capability Center (GCC) in Vadodara. You will support design, sizing, costing, and proposals for disinfection products and biological wastewater treatment processes, working with cross-functional teams to deliver competitive solutions.

Ideal candidates will have strong technical knowledge of UV systems, chlorination, and wastewater treatment, with an ability to bridge technical and commercial aspects, including cost

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of disinfection products and wastewater treatment processes.
• Proficiency in process, hydraulic, heat and mass balance, and equipment sizing.
• Familiarity with international standards, industry codes, and best practices for wastewater treatment.
• Ability to bridge technical and commercial aspects of projects, including costing and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-bid application engineering support, including design, sizing, costing, and proposal preparation for disinfection products and biological treatment systems.
• Conduct tender evaluations, review customer specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Prepare budgetary and firm proposals, including detailed cost estimates, equipment sizing, and technical narratives.
• Draft operating and functional descriptions, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
• Provide technical support and CAD input for proposal drawings and layouts.
• Interact directly with customers, sales teams, and representatives to clarify technical queries and support project acquisition.
• Work closely with mechanical, instrumentation, and controls engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Perform equipment selection and sizing of auxiliaries such as pumps, blowers, mixers, aeration equipment, sensors, and instruments.
• Compile complete engineering packages for proposals, including drawings, datasheets, and other required documentation.
• Conduct project risk analysis, compliance reviews, and deviation assessments.
• Independently manage deliverables with accountability for project planning, scheduling, and timely execution.

Brief Description/Job Summary:

Application Engineer (Disinfection Products) GCC seeks to hire an Application Engineer who can contribute to the growth of Xylem's Global Capability Center and its expansion into disruptive technology and business solutions. The position involves playing a key role in advancing Xylem water treatment technology capabilities. The Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, sizing, proposal, and costing of disinfection products, and biological wastewater treatment processes. This role requires strong technical expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, mechanical, controls, and operations teams to deliver competitive solutions and successful project execution.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

Good to Have:

• Hands-on/on-site exposure to erection, commissioning, and troubleshooting of wastewater treatment plants.
