Job summary

Eaton India Innovation Center in Pune (Hadapsar) seeks an Engineer- Aerospace Test Lab to lead hydraulic test activities, develop test circuits, and troubleshoot test rigs. You will work with engineering teams to install, run and analyze tests on aerospace hydraulic pumps, sensors and assemblies, ensuring quality and compliance.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years in hydraulics, data acquisition, LabVIEW, and problem solving, with a focus on safety, ISO17025/AS9100, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Graduate in Mechanical, Aerospace or Automotive engineering.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and LabVIEW.
• Ability to design test circuits and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of hydraulics/electromechanical equipment.
• Assemble, tear down and troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot test stands and perform data analysis for the product group.
• Drive continuous improvement using LEAN tools and standardization.
• Create SOPs and ensure ISO/AS standards compliance.

What you’ll do:Eaton India Innovation Center has an opening for a Engineer- Aerospace test Lab. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the requirement of this position is to perform testing and provide assistance to engineering personnel to setup, install and on-time completion of accurate product and /or system testing in accordance with specific test procedures as defined by the Aerospace product engineering functions team.Requirement of this position is to perform testing and provide assistance to engineering personnel to setup, install and on-time completion of accurate product and /or system testing in accordance with specific test procedures as defined by the Aerospace product engineering functions team. The position requires to :a) Perform installation of mechanical setups: sound knowledge of hydraulicsb) Perform test setups in completion of specific and standard test processes for Hydraulic test stand and complete test requests within acceptable time.c) Perform the test of hydraulic products such as Pump, Valves, Hose Assy , Couplings, Environmental chambers and fitting as per the mentioned process (Aerospace AS , DO-160 or customer specified standard)d) Knowledge in LabVIEW, selection of components for fatigue testing (Impulse, burst etc.), Selection of appropriate sensors, valves with practical experience in developing customized solutions and implementing applications.e) Provide the recommendations to product team on design improvement based on the test results.f) Should able to trouble shoot and update the test stand for any new test requirement or standardg) Should design the test circuit with minimal support and build the same for testing.h) Standardization of test procedures in test lab and adhere to ISO17025 and AS9100 standardsi) Implement (DMAIC / Lean) successfully in Laboratory . Improve productivity by standardization and continuous improvement, Participate & implement continuous improvement/ best practices, implement digitalization tools in labj) Create SOP’s and processes / procedures for Individual test stands and implements in Labk) Provide technical leadership to the test lab technician team and perform quality checks to ensure testing meets Eaton / Customer / International standards, Review and Approve the test request and provide feedback to test personnelQualifications:Graduate in Mechanical, Aerospace , Automotive engineering5 to 7 years of relevant work experienceSkills:'-Essential Functions1.Good knowledge in Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems and Equipment Development Lifecycle Expertise and demonstrated during equipment build2.Good knowledge in Pump selection, testing and its Assembly/Disassembly3.Analyzing mechanical assembly issues related to hydraulics components is most preferred.4.Troubleshooting elementary product and test rig issues, and performing data analysis required by the product group5.Understanding of data acquisition systems, hardware and software that are being used for testing6.Ability to fix issues with test rigs and lab and work with his peer engineer to improve or develop any new methods solving the issues7.Preferred reading fixture drawings8.Articulating and generating good technical reports based on test observations9.Train and monitor fellow technicians and drive completion of tests in prescribed time frame10.Work with engineers within group to define and perform custom testing as requested by customer11.Strive to meet test lab performance targets established in Balanced Score Card and ensure ISO compliance-Required:Product knowledge of aerospace hydraulic pumps, sensors, Hose assy. QD’s etc.Sound experience to Lead design and development of new Hydraulics /Electromechanical equipment’sExperience in assembly and tear down of hydraulic systemsExcellent problem solving and tests stand troubleshooting skill & well conversant with relevant tools like 8D (FRACAS) for the test lab Experience in test circuit design as per the requirement.Awareness and experience in following Safety & Quality Management PracticeExperience on fault identification and able to propose corrective actionsClear understanding about sensors, Diadem, electronic components of DAQ & control software i.e. LabVIEW etc.Experience in problem solving & continuous improvement through LEAN tool deployment for test equipment utilization and cost savings
