Job Description:

Job Purpose

As an Engineer – Cloud Engineering, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support business applications and services. The role involves automating build and deployment processes, managing SaaS and cloud resources, ensuring security compliance, troubleshooting incidents and problems, and collaborating with development and operations teams to streamline workflows using DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will ensure that managed systems are scalable, reliable, and highly available by combining software engineering, reliability engineering, and IT operations practices. You will build tools to automate processes, monitor system health, and respond to incidents to minimise downtime and improve system performance.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• 1. Improve Production Service and Operations Reduce incident volume and severity, with targets to be agreed. Improve platform perceived performance and service level, with targets to be agreed. Implement platform observability and reliability engineering practices. Define and agree on SLOs and SLIs.
• 2. Build Modern Software Engineering Practices and Tools Adapt and apply DevOps culture, an automation-first mindset, and engineering best practices across the team. Implement and maintain test and operations automation scripts. Assist with shift-left activities in QA, security, and operations. Build and enhance CI/CD. Support trunk-based development and optimise the SDLC process to achieve a deployment frequency of 1 per week or better and a lead time for change of 2 weeks or better. Assist in migrating applications and teams to strategic SDLC tools, test automation frameworks, and observability technologies. Contribute to standardised development workflows, branching strategies, and release management activities. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and maintain reusable templates.
