Job summary

Sigmoid in Bengaluru seeks a senior leader to anchor the CPG Supply Chain Analytics practice. You will lead client engagements end to end, own capability areas, and drive strategic initiatives with ownership shared with practice leadership.

You will shape the practice, support sales, and mentor consultants while delivering advanced analytics and data models, including AI/ML and Gen AI, to improve supply chain decisions in large CPG accounts.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years consulting on and delivering data and analytics for large CPG customers.
• Direct front office consulting with strategic customer leadership.
• Proven track record of leading teams and engagements.

• BE or BTech in Computer Science; MBA is a plus.

Role Summary:

We are looking for a senior leader to help anchor our CPG Supply Chain Analytics practice in Bengaluru. You will sit inside the practice, reporting into practice leadership. Expect to lead client engagements end to end, own a set of capability areas, and drive the strategic initiatives that the practice is betting on. It carries real ownership, but you will be doing it alongside a practice leader rather than in place of one. Roughly speaking, your time goes to clients, to the team you lead and to the solutions we are building.

What you will be doing:

Inside the practice

• Lead significant parts of how the practice is built out, working to the direction that practice leadership sets.
• Take ownership of specific capability areas and offerings, from the first idea through to something we can put in front of a client.
• Help shape how we take the practice to market, and back the sales and business development teams in pursuits.

Clients

• Lead engagements and own the relationships on the accounts you carry.
• Get close enough to a client's business to see what is actually holding them back, then turn that into solutions that can be built and used.
• Become a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on supply chain topics.

Solutions and innovation

• Drive the development of advanced analytics and data models, including AI, machine learning, optimisation and Gen AI, to improve how decisions get made across the supply chain.
• Stay close enough to the work to review the approach, challenge the modelling and keep the quality bar where it should be.
• Keep consulting and engineering close together so that models make it past the pilot stage and into production.

Team and knowledge

• Lead, coach and grow the consultants and analysts working with you.
• Write. Articles, points of view, internal intellectual capital, anything that lifts the quality of client work across the practice.
• Contribute to knowledge management at a practice level, and make sure people actually use what we build.
• Represent Sigmoid at industry events, conferences and forums.

What we are looking for:

• 8 to 12 years spent consulting on and delivering data and analytics work for large CPG customers.
• Direct front office consulting experience, with strategic customer leadership. That part is not negotiable.
• A track record of leading teams and engagements, and getting excellent work out of the people around you.
• Strong communication skills, and the senior client relationships to show for it.
• The ability to take a messy problem apart and work out which piece actually matters.
• BE or BTech in Computer Science from a Tier I or Tier II university such as an IIT or NIT. An MBA from a top business school such as an IIM is a plus.

Nice to have:

• Real depth in supply chain planning and operations, whether that is CPG, life sciences, pharma or industrial, and a sense of where analytics fits.
• Familiarity with the full process: demand planning, forecasting, inventory optimisation, procurement analytics.
• Experience building models yourself, across machine learning, deep learning and Gen AI, and comfort with the whole range from descriptive through to prescriptive.
• Published writing on supply chain topics, internally or externally.
• A working understanding of the technology stack, both on premise and cloud (GCP, Azure, AWS).
