Job summary

DSRI Labs in Hyderabad seeks an experienced EMI/EMC Test Engineer to lead the execution, validation and documentation of electromagnetic compatibility testing in strict MIL-STD-461 (F/G) compliance for defense systems.

You will operate RF test setups, analyze failures, and draft Qualification Test Plans, Procedures and Reports required for defense clearances, collaborating with design engineers on enclosure layouts and shielding strategies.

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience with MIL-STD-461 (F or G editions) testing protocols.
  • Deep understanding of military qualification processes, RF engineering, and electromagnetic shielding principles.
  • Proficiency with test equipment like Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, and Network Analyzers.
  • Experience with automated EMC testing software (e.g., EMC32, TILE!) tailored for military profiles is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of related military standards like MIL-STD-810 (Environmental) or MIL-STD-704 (Aircraft Power) is a major plus.

Responsibilities

  • Independently set up, calibrate, and execute EMI/EMC testing covering RE, CE, RS, and CS methods as per MIL-STD-461 guidelines.
  • Operate advanced defense-grade RF test setups, including military-spec antennas, EMI receivers, high-power RF amplifiers, and bulk current injection (BCI) probes inside Anechoic/Shielded chambers.
  • Analyze test failures, isolate electromagnetic noise sources down to the component or subsystem level, and provide military-grade mitigation solutions (shielding, gaskets, filtering, ruggedized grounding).
  • Draft comprehensive Qualification Test Plans (QTP), Qualification Test Procedures (QTP), and Qualification Test Reports (QTR) required for defense clearances.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to review hardware layouts and enclosure designs for compliance prior to testing.

Job Overview:

DSRI Labs (Defense Systems Research Institute), Hyderabad is seeking an experienced and rigorous EMI/EMC Test Engineer specializing in defense systems.
