Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an Embedded Software Verification Engineer to design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies for embedded software. You will implement automated test scripts, perform regression and system testing, and work closely with software teams to ensure quality and reliability across multiple hardware platforms.

The role requires a strong background in embedded testing, V&V practices, and experience with various testing tools and frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in embedded/related technical field.
• Proven experience in Embedded Software Testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test cases for embedded software across the development lifecycle (unit, integration, system, regression).
• Implement and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to improve verification efficiency and coverage.
• Perform thorough regression testing to ensure changes do not affect existing functionalities.
• Conduct detailed system testing to validate end-to-end functionality and performance of embedded systems.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements, identify risks, and provide feedback on quality.
• Analyze test results and defects; work with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of verification processes and methodologies.
• Document test plans, test cases, results, and defect reports comprehensively.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure testability and quality.

As an Embedded Software - Verification Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of embedded software solutions by developing and executing comprehensive test strategies.

• Design, develop, and execute test cases for embedded software across various stages of the development lifecycle, including unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
• Implement and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage of the verification process.
• Perform thorough regression testing to ensure new software changes do not introduce defects into existing functionalities.
• Conduct detailed system testing to validate the end-to-end functionality and performance of embedded systems.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to understand software requirements, identify potential risks, and provide timely feedback on software quality.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of verification and validation processes and methodologies.
• Document test plans, test cases, test results, and defect reports accurately and comprehensively.
• Participate in design reviews and code reviews to ensure testability and quality of embedded software.

Your Background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering & 10+ years of experience in related technical field.
• Proven experience in Embedded Software Testing.
• Strong expertise in Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and System Testing.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with Verification and Validation (V&V) principles and methodologies.
• Experience with various testing tools and frameworks relevant to embedded systems.
• Familiarity with embedded operating systems and hardware platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
