Neara in Bengaluru, India, is seeking an experienced RF software engineer to design the end-to-end software architecture for an RF system using data from multiple SDR-based ground stations.
You will develop modules for SDR data and metadata handling, implement signal processing algorithms for RF data, and validate the complete chain with simulated, recorded and live data.
Collaborate with RF hardware engineers to define interfaces and prepare comprehensive technical documentation.

Design the end-to-end software architecture for an RF system using data from multiple SDR-based ground stations.
Develop software modules for SDR data and metadata handling, time alignment, etc.
Implement signal processing algorithms for RF data processing and parameter extraction.
Implement algorithms for post‑processing requirements of the RF data from multiple ground stations.
Work with RF hardware engineers to define software interfaces for SDRs, GPSDOs, antenna tracking systems and receiver metadata.
Validate the full software chain using simulated signals, recorded data and live data.
Prepare technical documentation, software requirement specifications, test reports and design review material.
3–8 years of academic, research or industry experience in signal processing, estimation, tracking systems, RF software, SDR systems or aerospace software.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or equivalent scientific computing environments.
Experience with digital signal processing, SDR data processing, FFTs, filtering, frequency estimation, correlation and spectral analysis.
Understanding of Doppler, time synchronization and frequency‑reference concepts.
Familiarity with least‑squares estimation, Kalman filtering, measurement covariance and error propagation.
Ability to work with time‑tagged I/Q data and metadata from multiple receiver stations.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and technical documentation skills.
Experience with SDR data workflows.
Knowledge of station geometry and orbital elements.
Experience with radar, satellite communications.
Familiarity with Linux‑based real‑time or near‑real‑time data acquisition systems.
Ability to work in a mission‑focused engineering environment.
Ability to convert ambiguous system‑level requirements into implementable software designs.
Ability to debug complex system issues involving timing, RF data, signal processing and estimation.
Ability to work with RF, hardware, systems and operations teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to generate clear technical reports and review presentations.
