Responsibilities

• Develop Embedded Linux applications using C and C++.
• Integrate multiple IP cameras over Ethernet using RTSP/RTP and ONVIF.
• Develop and debug GStreamer pipelines for H.264/H.265 streaming and processing.
• Implement multi-camera stream management, automatic reconnection, and health monitoring.

Job Overview

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to develop and optimize software for edge AI devices and smart security cameras. The role focuses on Embedded Linux, C/C++, multi-camera video streaming, GStreamer, and multimedia processing for AI applications.

The initial development platform will be Raspberry Pi 5 with a Hailo-8 AI accelerator, followed by integration and migration to a Hailo-15H-based SBC and camera platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Embedded Linux applications using C and C++.
• Integrate multiple IP cameras over Ethernet using RTSP/RTP and ONVIF.
• Develop and debug GStreamer pipelines for H.264/H.265 video streaming, decoding, and processing.
• Implement multi-camera stream management, automatic reconnection, error recovery, and camera health monitoring.
• Integrate hardware-accelerated video decoding where supported by the target platform.
• Implement multithreading and optimize CPU usage, memory consumption, FPS, latency, buffering, and frame-drop performance.
• Deliver decoded video frames efficiently to AI preprocessing and inference pipelines.
• Integrate and test video streams from network cameras and, where applicable, directly from camera sensor pipelines.
• Debug networking, codec, streaming, and GStreamer-related issues.
• Perform multi-camera integration, performance benchmarking, and long-duration stability testing.
• Collaborate with hardware/BSP and AI engineers on software integration and migration between embedded platforms.
• Support camera interface integration and troubleshooting, including basic MIPI CSI-2 and image sensor interface understanding.

Required Skills

• Strong practical knowledge of C and C++ programming.
• Good understanding of Embedded Linux, Linux processes, threads, memory management, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with GStreamer and RTSP/RTP.
• Knowledge of H.264/H.265 video codecs and IP camera streaming.
• Understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, and network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with GDB, Git, Wireshark, and Linux debugging tools.
• Experience with Raspberry Pi or another ARM-based Embedded Linux platform.
• Ability to troubleshoot software integration and performance issues on embedded hardware.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Embedded C programming and basic knowledge of GPIO, UART, SPI, and IC.
• Experience with Raspberry Pi 5, Hailo accelerators, or other edge AI platforms.
• Knowledge of hardware video acceleration, V4L2, DRM, DMA-BUF, or zero-copy buffers.
• Basic understanding of MIPI CSI-2, camera sensor interfaces, and image acquisition pipelines.
• Exposure to image sensor driver integration, ISP integration, or camera image-quality tuning.
• Basic Python scripting for testing and automation.
• Familiarity with Linux BSP, kernel, device drivers, or application migration between ARM-based platforms.
