Qualifications

• Acquire, analyze, and benchmark radar data across different applications and operating conditions.

42Square https://www.42square.ai/ is seeking a highly motivated full-time Embedded Radar Algorithms Engineer with a strong background in digital signal processing, algorithm development, and embedded systems. The engineer will develop signal processing algorithms for radar sensing applications and take them from research and prototyping through implementation and validation on embedded platforms. This position is an important part of developing high-performance, reliable radar sensing products. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team and contribute throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop signal processing algorithms for radar sensing applications.
• Acquire, analyze, and benchmark radar data across different applications and operating conditions.
• Develop and evaluate algorithms for target detection, estimation, classification, and tracking.
• Prototype and evaluate algorithms using Python and transition them to embedded implementations in C/C++.
• Implement and optimize algorithms for resource-constrained embedded platforms, including DSPs, microcontrollers, ARM-based processors, and heterogeneous multicore SoCs.
• Test and validate algorithm performance using recorded datasets and real-world radar measurements.
• Work closely with embedded software, hardware, and systems engineers to integrate algorithms into products and improve overall system performance.

Desired Experience and Competencies

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, preferably with 35 years of relevant research and development experience.
• Strong foundation in digital signal processing and algorithm development.
• Experience with radar, sensing, communications, or other signal processing applications.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and demonstrated ability to prototype and analyze algorithms using Python.
• Experience developing and optimizing algorithms for DSPs, microcontrollers, ARM-based processors, or heterogeneous multicore SoCs.
• Understanding of embedded processing constraints, including computational complexity, memory utilization, data movement, and real-time performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high standards for individual and team results.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
