Job summary

Silicon Stack is seeking an embedded systems engineer to join our Pune office. You will contribute to firmware development for MCUs (ARM Cortex, NRF52), implement tests, and work on CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Jenkins.

The role emphasizes hardware-in-the-loop validation and automated BLE testing. You will collaborate across teams to ensure robust firmware, harness development, and reliable validation for our automotive, agriculture, and IoT projects.

Qualifications

• Experience with embedded firmware development and MCU architectures.
• Hands-on with UART/SPI/I2C and BLE testing.
• Familiarity with debugging, flashing, OTA validation, and test automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for MCUs (ARM Cortex, NRF52) and basic firmware understanding.
• Build and maintain automation frameworks (Pytest, Robot Framework).
• Support HIL testing, hardware-in-the-loop validation, and device control workflows.
• Write and parse logs (UART, RTT) and contribute to test infrastructure.
• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and reporting.
• Automate BLE scanning, connection tests, and GATT validation.

Job Description

• Programming: Python, C/C++ (basic firmware understanding)
• Automation Frameworks: Pytest, Robot Framework
• Embedded Systems: MCU (ARM Cortex, NRF52), RTOS basics
• Interfaces/Protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO
• Wireless: BLE (GATT, advertising, connection testing)
• HIL Testing: Hardware-in-the-Loop setup and validation
• Device Control: PySerial, JTAG/SWD (Segger J-Link)
• Firmware Handling: Flashing, debugging, OTA validation
• Logging & Debugging: UART logs, RTT logs, log parsing automation
• Test Infrastructure: Test harness development, simulation tools
• CI/CD: Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins
• Performance Testing: Stress, soak, power consumption testing
• Reporting: Allure / HTML reports
• Automation Scope: Regression, functional, system-level validation

Embedded Systems Knowledge

Understanding of MCU architecture (e.g., ARM Cortex, NRF52)

Knowledge of:

GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C communication

Interrupts, timers, watchdogs

Firmware flashing and upgrade validation , hands-on experience in BDD (Cucumber/Behave), Communication Protocol Testing

Strong experience testing:

UART, SPI, I2C, BLE, MQTT (if IoT)

Writing automation for protocol validation

Packet-level debugging and analysis, BLE / Wireless Automation (if applicable)

Automation of:

BLE scanning, connection, GATT validation

Tools:
