You will lead and mentor a team of Embedded Linux engineers while actively contributing to BSP bring-up, kernel and driver development, and system integration on custom hardware. The role requires strong C/C++, shell scripting, debugging skills and deep knowledge of Linux internals, bootloaders like U-Boot, and SoC architectures (ARM/PowerPC/x86).

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Embedded Linux development.
• Deep expertise in Linux kernel internals, device driver development, and BSP bring-up for custom boards.
• Proficiency in C/C++, shell scripting, and debugging.
• Extensive experience with Yocto/Buildroot based Linux systems.
• Experience with bootloaders such as U-Boot and board bring-up, memory, clocks, and device initialization.
• Understanding of ARM/PowerPC/x86 SoC architectures and strong root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication, ownership, and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Embedded Linux engineers while remaining technically hands-on.
• Actively contribute to Linux BSP bring-up, kernel and driver development, and system integration.
• Own end-to-end delivery of Embedded Linux solutions on custom hardware.
• Drive architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with Hardware, QA, Validation, and Support teams; support customer discussions and escalations.
• Ensure coding standards, best practices, and quality processes are followed.

Role Overview We are looking for a Hands‑On Embedded Linux Team Lead who combines deep technical expertise with people leadership. This role requires active involvement in design, development, debugging, and delivery, while also mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across projects. This is a technical leadership role, where the lead is expected to write code, debug issues, review patches, and own complex problem resolution, in addition to guiding the team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Embedded Linux engineers while remaining technically hands‑on

Actively contribute to:

• Linux BSP bring‑up
• Kernel and driver development
• Board‑level debugging and system integration

Own end‑to‑end delivery of Embedded Linux solutions on custom hardware

Drive architecture, design decisions, and technical trade‑oAs

Perform hands‑on debugging of complex issues using logs, traces, and debug tools

Review and contribute to code, design documents, and technical specifications

Serve as the primary technical escalation point within the team

Collaborate closely with Hardware, QA, Validation, and Support teams

Support customer discussions, technical reviews, and escalations as needed

Ensure engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality processes are followed

Required Skills
