Jobs for Humanity is seeking an Embedded Hardware & Power Electronics Engineer (Women) to lead hardware design and testing for power electronics and embedded systems in Bengaluru. You will select MCUs, design signal conditioning, develop power stages, prototype, validate, and ensure compliance.

We expect 4-7 years of relevant experience, strong lab debugging skills, and proficiency in PCB layout, analog/digital grounds, and isolation considerations.

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of hardware design experience for power electronics.
  • Experience with HV/LV bench testing.
  • PCB layout and board development knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create schematics and multilayer PCB designs with proper creepage/clearance, high current routing, thermal design, EMI/EMC aware placement.
  • Bench bring-up of power stages, drivers, sensor circuits, and MCU hardware interfaces.
  • Prepare schematics, BOM, test reports, validation logs and hardware release documentation.
  • Support manufacturing with test jigs, fixtures, DFM/DFT improvements, failure analysis (FA, RCA, 8D).

This position focuses exclusively on hardware design and testing for power electronics and embedded electronic systems. The engineer will be responsible for microcontroller selection, signal conditioning design, power stage development, prototyping, validation, and compliance testing.


Experience: 4-7 years


Competencies


  • Working experience & Master in subject in Power electronics (Mosfets & Drivers) and design of power stage with filters and considering Analog, Digital & Isolated grounds.

  • Very Good experience in fault diagnostic and analysis.

  • Strong lab debugging skills and comfort with HV/LV bench testing.

  • Good knowledge in PCB layout and board development

  • Excellent analytical, documentation and problem solving skills

  • Good communication skills.

  • Embedded Hardware Design

  • Selection of microcontrollers based on application needs, I/O count, ADC resolution, communication interfaces (UART/SPI/I²C/CAN), power consumption, package, and lifecycle availability.

  • Analog front ends

  • Filters (RC/active)

  • Level shifters

  • AC-DC stages (isolated & non-isolated)

  • BLDC/PMSM motor drive hardware (gate drivers, current/voltage sensing, protection)

  • Semiconductor device selection (MOSFET, IGBT, SiC/GaN optional).


3. Schematic & PCB Design (added would be advantage)


  • Creating schematics and multilayer PCB designs with proper: creepage/clearance, high current routing, thermal design, EMI/EMC aware placement.

  • Performing design reviews, BOM optimization, and DFM/DFT considerations.

  • Bench bring-up of power stages, drivers, sensor circuits, and MCU hardware interfaces.

  • Using lab equipment: Oscilloscope, power analyzer, electronic loads, spectrum analyzer, LCR meter, FRA/Bode analyzer, thermal camera.

  • Performing functional & parametric testing, stability testing (Bode plots, compensation tuning), thermal characterization.


5. Documentation & Cross Functional Support


  • Preparing schematics, BOM, test reports, validation logs and hardware release documentation.

  • Supporting manufacturing with: test jigs, fixtures, DFM/DFT improvements, failure analysis (FA, RCA, 8D).


Understanding of motor control hardware (FOC, current sensing, resolver/encoder interfaces).


Test automation using Python / LabVIEW


Experience with reliability engineering (DFMEA, MTBF).
