Job summary

ITConnectUS is seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and maintain firmware for autonomous floor cleaning platforms. The role involves real-time embedded systems, ROS2-based navigation, and BLE/telemetry integration.

You will work on Embedded Linux and FreeRTOS, implement safety features, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance across hardware and software stacks.

Qualifications

• BE or BTech degree.
• Strong experience in Embedded C/C++.
• 6–12 years of embedded firmware experience.
• Experience with ROS2 Robotics, SLAM, and Navigation tuning.
• Experience with CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, CANopen and SAE J1939.
• Git for version control and JIRA for defect tracking and agile execution.

Job description

BE; BTech - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with industrial machines, Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), or mobile robots.
• Familiarity with motor control systems and power electronics.
• Knowledge of functional safety concepts (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 61508) is a bonus.
• Experience with MQTT, edge connectivity, telemetry, or cloud integration.
• Proficiency in Python or shell scripting for automation and testing.
• Experience with Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, diagnostics, or remote monitoring.
• Experience with ROS2 Robotics, SLAM, and Navigation Tuning.
• Minimum 6 to 12 years of professional experience in Embedded Firmware Development.
• Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree.
• Strong experience in Embedded C/C++.
• Ability to design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for floor cleaning machines and autonomous platforms.
• Proficiency in developing and optimizing applications on Embedded Linux and FreeRTOS for real-time and safety-critical systems.
• Mandatory experience in implementing and maintaining communication using CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, CANopen, and SAE J1939.
• Skills in developing and integrating device drivers for sensors, motor controllers, displays, and peripheral devices.
• Experience in processing analog signals such as sensor outputs, motor currents, and battery voltage.
• Ability to implement safety functions including open load, shorted load, and overload.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining embedded UI and HMI interfaces (e.g., touch displays, LCDs, operator panels).
• Experience in implementing Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication for diagnostics, configuration, and mobile connectivity.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with mechanical, electrical, controls, and systems engineering teams.
• Capability to support system bring-up, debugging, and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and CAN tools.
• Commitment to ensuring compliance with industrial safety, reliability, and quality standards.
• Contribution to architecture documentation, design reviews, and code quality enforcement.
