Job summary

NUOS in Mumbai is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to design, test, and maintain software for ESP32/Arduino platforms. You will work with ESP-IDF, Raspberry Pi, and wireless protocols to deliver reliable IoT solutions.

You will collaborate across hardware, backend, and mobile teams, participate in product lifecycle, and optimize for power, memory, and performance in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with ESP-IDF/Arduino framework.
• Raspberry Pi Linux-based development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain firmware for embedded systems.
• Work on wireless communication protocols including Zigbee, BLE, LoRa, Wi-Fi.
• Interface with sensors, actuators, and peripheral devices (I2C, SPI, UART, ADC, GPIO).
• Debug and troubleshoot hardware-software integration issues.
• Optimize firmware for performance, memory, and power consumption.
• Implement communication stacks and protocols (MQTT, HTTP, TCP/IP, Serial protocols).
• Collaborate with hardware, backend, and mobile app teams.
• Participate in product development lifecycle: prototyping, testing, deployment, and field support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain firmware for embedded systems using platforms like ESP32 (ESP-IDF), Arduino, and Raspberry Pi
• Work on wireless communication protocols including Zigbee, BLE, LoRa, Wi-Fi

Required Skills & Experience:

• 34 years of experience in embedded systems / IoT development
• Strong programming skills in C/C++
• Hands-on experience with:
• ESP-IDF / Arduino framework
• Raspberry Pi (Linux-based development)

Experience working with wireless technologies:

• Zigbee / BLE / LoRa / Wi-Fi (at least 1–2 deeply)
• Good understanding of:
• Embedded communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C)
• Networking basics (TCP/IP, MQTT preferred)
• Experience with debugging tools (logic analyzer, serial logs, etc.)
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)

Good to Have :

• Experience with Zigbee stack (coordinator/router/end device)
• Exposure to home automation / BMS / IoT products
• Knowledge of OTA updates and device provisioning
• Basic hardware debugging (schematics, PCB understanding)
• Experience with cloud integration (AWS IoT, MQTT brokers, etc.)
