Requirements

About this role

As an Embedded Engineer at Armory, you will build and own the firmware that powers mission-critical defence systems.

You will operate at the intersection of hardware, RF systems, sensors, power electronics, and real-time software, ensuring our systems perform reliably in high-stakes, high-interference environments.

Must haves

  • Design, develop, and maintain production-grade embedded firmware using C/C++ for mission-critical systems
  • Build and optimise real-time applications on microcontrollers and embedded Linux platforms using RTOS where required
  • Own hardware-software integration across RF modules, sensors, communication interfaces, and power systems
  • Implement and debug communication protocols, including SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and Ethernet
  • Lead board bring-up activities, subsystem validation, and system-level testing
  • Diagnose complex issues using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, JTAG, and other debugging tools
  • Improve performance, reliability, and stability in constrained and high-interference environments
  • Collaborate closely with RF, FPGA, mechanical, and systems teams to ensure cohesive architecture
  • Take end-to-end ownership of firmware modules, from architecture and implementation to field validation
  • Experience in defence, aerospace, automotive, or other safety-critical systems
  • Exposure to RF systems or signal processing
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces (USB, PCIe, LVDS, etc.)
  • Experience with firmware security, secure boot, or OTA updates
  • Strong schematic-level debugging and EMI/EMC awareness

What will make you successful in this role?

  • Strong embedded systems depth
  • Fast, reliable hardware-software integration
  • Extreme ownership and execution bias

How will we set you up for success in this role?

  • A live project: You will jump straight into a live project as soon as you join. No dummy or test projects.
  • Access to resources: You name it, we will do everything to get it for you.
  • Supportive team: You will be surrounded by the best minds ready to help you.

Our Hiring Process

We target to close the hiring process within 14 days of your application.

Duration: At your own pace, but if it takes you less than 15 minutes to apply, you are unlikely to move to the next round.

How to ace: Do not copy-paste your answers from a website or ChatGPT. Be specific in your answers. It’s about you.

Codeword: Use BOARDUP in the application form where it asks you for a codeword. This way we know you have read the JD :)

Round 2: Introduction & Technical Round

Duration: 1 hour

How to ace: Be yourself. We want to know YOU, not some ideal, unrealistic person.

Demonstrate your expertise in the area we are evaluating. Ask good questions.

Round 3: Technical Round

Duration: 1 hour

How to ace: Show curiosity. Elaborate beyond what you were expected to do in your roles.

Round 4: Culture Fitment

Duration: 1 hour

How to ace: Help us understand your goals & aspirations. Share some of the stories that have made you what you are. Ask good questions.

Congratulations! You are now a part of Armory. You will build something that lets you sleep at night with a feeling that you did something meaningful. Buckle up for a ride into the future.
