Job summary

Datamatics is seeking a senior embedded software engineer with 9+ years of experience to design and implement system-level software for microprocessor-based platforms. You will work on Linux kernel architecture, device trees, and BSPs, while developing drivers for custom hardware interfaces.

You will also handle bootloaders like U-Boot and contribute to Yocto/Buildroot driven distributions, with emphasis on performance, memory management, and networking.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in embedded software development.
• Strong programming in embedded C/C++ and system-level software.
• Hands-on experience with Linux BSP development for microprocessor platforms.
• Knowledge of Linux kernel architecture, device tree, and kernel config.
• Experience writing Linux device drivers for peripherals.
• Exposure to bootloaders like U-Boot and Linux startup sequencing.
• Familiarity with Yocto/Buildroot and distribution generation.
• Solid understanding of networking, FS, memory mgmt and scheduling.
• Proficient with GDB, JTAG, Lauterbach, Trace32 and logic analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ software for microprocessor platforms.
• Contribute to Linux BSP development and kernel customization.
• Implement and optimize device drivers for custom hardware interfaces.
• Work on boot sequence, U-Boot configurations, and startup processes.
• Leverage Yocto/Buildroot to generate stable Linux distributions.
• Analyze and optimize networking, memory usage and filesystem behavior.
• Utilize debugging tools (GDB, JTAG, Lauterbach, Trace32) for issue resolution.
