Job summary

SolarEdge Technologies in Bengaluru, India, seeks an experienced Embedded & Automation Engineer to join the R&D team. You will develop Python-based automation tools and embedded firmware for advanced solar energy products, ensuring reliability and seamless integration with hardware.

You will read complex embedded C code, define test processes, simulate circuits, and potentially grow into broader embedded software roles as you contribute to cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 3+ years in automation, testing and embedded C.
• Master's degree in Embedded System Engineering/Power Electronics with 2+ years in automation, testing and embedded C.
• Excellent knowledge of Python - including Pytest.

Our R&D division is growing globally, and we are looking for an experienced Embedded & Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team at the new R&D site in Bangalore, India. As a Embedded & Automation Engineer, you will be a crucial member of the SolarEdge India R&D team, responsible for developing embedded automation and application firmware for our advanced solar energy products. You will play a key role in developing python-based automation tolls, implementing test process and developing embedded applications ensuring its reliability, performance, and seamless integration with our hardware platforms.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop Python-based automation tools to test real-time embedded systems.
• Define and implement test processes and flows using Python.
• Design and simulate test circuits using simulation tools.
• Read and deeply understand the complex embedded systems written in C.
• Opportunity to grow into Embedded software development over time.
• Design, implement and testing of embedded application features.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's (B.E./B.Tech.) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in automation, testing and embedded C programming.
• Master’s degree (M.E./M.Tech.) in Embedded System Engineering/ Power Electronics with 2+ years of relevant industrial experience in automation, testing and embedded C programming.
• Excellent knowledge of Python - experience with Pytest.
• Solid experience with Embedded C development, especially bare metal coding.
• Proficiency with Git - experience with CI/CD tools is an advantage.
• Experience in the renewable energy or power electronics industry is an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience with circuit simulation tools such as PSpice, Simulink, or Typhoon HIL - considered a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of microcontrollers/microprocessors and it's peripherals, and embedded system architectures.
• Hands on embedded application firmware experience using MCU's such as TI/ST/Renesas etc.
• Working knowledge on the protocols and devices driver for SPI, I2C, UART, CAN.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering robust and reliable embedded software.
