Job summary

Hitachi Energy Technology Services Pvt Ltd in Chennai seeks an experienced Control Design Engineer with a strong interest in power electronics and control technology to contribute to FACTS, HV/EHV layouts, and detailed steel and installation drawings.

You will coordinate with vendors and stakeholders during project execution, support commissioning, and travel as required within India and abroad, while upholding safety and integrity.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare FACTS plant layouts (yard arrangement, layout, plan, HV/EHV clearance).
• Prepare civil conceptual design & interface drawings (foundations, trench, load calculations).
• Prepare control building layout (electrical cubicles, thyristors, pump skid).
• Prepare cable trench & conduit layouts.
• Prepare grounding & lightning protection layouts.
• Prepare installation drawings / erection diagrams.
• Review equipment drawings (reactor, capacitor, cubicle, etc.).
• Steel design calculations (member size & foundation bolts).
• Prepare detailed steel drawings for manufacturing & installation.
• HVAC data preparation (heat & ventilation).
• Review Tender / Bidding specification.
• Technical data sheets verification of primary equipment.
• Adhere to quality system & contribute to improvements.
• Vendor evaluation by visiting facilities.
• Obtain customer approvals for designs & drawings.
• As-built drawings preparation.
• Co-ordination with stakeholders during project execution.
• Technical coordination with sub-suppliers across locations.
• Site technical support during commissioning.
• Willingness to travel to sites in India and abroad on short notice.

We the Power Conversion (PC) Solutions team at Indian Operation Center, Hitachi Energy Technology Services Pvt Ltd, Chennai help our clients with our state-of-the-art power converter solutions in a varied range of applications. With our competence in Power Conversion technology, we have a leading position in the development of solutions for Utility STATCOM's, Rail Power Supply Converters as well as static frequency converters for industrial applications. We have also built the world’s largest drive for a hydro pump station. To strengthen this motivated team, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated Control design Engineer with high interest in power electronics and control technology. As the system being continuously evolving, becoming more complex and customized, great deal of test & verification are required. Thus, the job description would be as given below:

• PreparationofFACTSplantlayouts(Yard Arrangement – Layout & Plan, Electrical HV / EHV Clearance Check)

• Steeldesigncalculations (Membersize& foundationboltselection)
• Preparationofdetailedsteeldrawings (formanufacturing /procurement& installation)
• Heat &ventilationsystemdata preparation (Input to HVAC design)
• Review of Tender / Bidding Specification
• Technical data sheets verification of primary equipment
• Adherence to quality system and contribution to its improvement
• Vendor evaluation by visiting their facilities
• Responsible for obtaining customer approvals for the designs and drawings
• As-built drawings preparation etc.
• Co – ordination with different stakeholders during project execution.
• Technical co-ordination with sub suppliers and multiple stakeholders in different locations & discussion with other departments / stakeholders to prepare the Division of works.
• Technical support at site during commissioning phase of the project
• Should be willing to travel to sites in India and Abroad at short notice for support work.
