Job summary

Honeywell Technologies is seeking an experienced E&I Technician at our Pune plant in India to install, wire, test, and commission electrical and instrumentation systems for heavy industrial centrifugal compressors and pumps.

The role requires reading SLDs and P&IDs, handling HT/LT systems, and working with field instruments, loop checks, and safety testing; diploma/ITI in Electrical and 5+ years of industrial electrician experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an industrial electrician, specifically with large rotating machinery.
• Advanced ability to read and work from SLDs, P&IDs, cable schedules and instrument data sheets.
• Valid industrial electrical license and HT/LT supervision/license; LOTO and ATEX/IECEx training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute cable schedules, routing, and sizing per plant plans.
• Read P&IDs to identify instrument locations and process flow.
• Wire control panels, junction boxes, and switchgear from drawings.
• Review instrument data sheets before installation and perform continuity checks.
• Install and terminate HT/LT cables; conduct Hi-Pot safety testing.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work with an energetic and collaborative team at Honeywell Sundyne’s plant located in Pune, India. We are seeking a highly skilled E&I Technician specializing in industrial rotating equipment. He will handle the installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems for heavy industrial centrifugal compressors and centrifugal pumps. This role requires the ability to work independently by interpreting technical documentation and managing both High Voltage (HT) and Low Voltage (LT) systems.

Responsibilities

Technical Documentation

• Cable Schedules: Execute cable pulling, routing, and sizing strictly according to the plant cable schedules.
• P&ID Interpretation: Read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to identify instrument locations, line tracking, and process flow.
• Wiring & Schematics: Wire control panels, junction boxes, and switchgear using schematic wiring drawings, termination charts, and loop sheets.
• Instrument Data Sheets: Review instrument data sheets to verify technical specifications, range calibrations, voltage ratings, and connection details before installation

Cabling, Termination & Infrastructure

• Cable Management: Install, modify, and route HT/LT cable trays, conduits, and support structures according to structural layouts.
• Cable Preparation: Pull, measure, and safely cut heavy-duty armored power cables and multi-core control/signal cables.
• Termination & Crimping: Execute precise cable glanding and termination. Crimp heavy lugs using hydraulic tools and apply clear ferrule markers matching electrical schematics.
• Quality & Continuity Checks: Conduct continuity, point-to-point wiring validation, and high-potential (Hi-Pot) safety testing on power cables

Instrumentation & Loop Testing

• Field Instrumentation: Route, terminate, and secure shielded instrument cables for sensors, transmitters, and automated control valves.
• Loop Checking: Perform end-to-end cold and hot loop checks (4-20mA, HART, Modbus) spanning from field devices to PLC/DCS I/O modules.
• Calibration & Diagnostics: Calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, and proximity-based vibration sensors. Diagnose signal drops or calibration drift.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or ITI in Electrical
• Experience: 5+ years as an industrial electrician, specifically dealing with large rotating machinery.
• Technical Engineering Literacy: Advanced ability to read and work as per single-line diagrams (SLDs), P&IDs, cable schedules, schematic drawings, and instrument data sheets.
• Tool & Equipment Mastery: Expert handling of Megger testers, Hi-Pot test kits, hydraulic crimpers, cable cutters, and loop calibrators (e.g., Fluke).
• Certifications: Valid industrial electrical license, Valid HT/LT supervisor/work license issued by a government authority. Certified training in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous areas (ATEX/IECEx) is highly desired.
