Job summary

Maersk is seeking an engineer to provide first-level technical support for Electrical & Automation and Navigation & Communication systems on Maersk Tanker vessels. You will guide the Travelling ETO pool and work to improve reliability and lifecycle performance while managing costs.

You will ensure vessel compliance with flag and class requirements, coordinate repairs and upgrades, and collaborate with procurement and supply chain colleagues to optimize equipment lifecycle.

Qualifications

• A university degree in Electrical or Electronics and Telecommunication is required.
• Experience or familiarity with OT networking and cybersecurity controls is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support and troubleshooting to Tanker vessels and shore teams on Electrical & Automation and Navcom issues.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance to the Travelling ETO pool.
• Improve equipment reliability and lifecycle performance while managing costs.
• Monitor vessel compliance with flag and class requirements for Electrical, Automation and Navcom equipment.
• Manage repairs and modifications within time and budget.
• Share lessons learned to improve vessel operations, equipment design and new builds.
• Manage lifecycle of Electrical, Automation and Navcom equipment efficiently.
• Support upgrades, retrofits and obsolescence management as part of continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and support vendors with procurement and supply chain colleagues.

Job description

Provide first-level technical support and lifecycle management for Electrical & Automation and Navigation & Communication (Navcom) systems on Maersk Tanker vessels, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing first-level technical support and troubleshooting to Tanker vessels and shore teams on Electrical & Automation and Navigation & Communication related issues, to minimize downtime
• Providing day-to-day technical guidance and coaching to the Travelling ETO pool assigned to your vessels
• Improving equipment reliability and lifecycle performance while maintaining cost leadership
• Assisting in monitoring vessel compliance with flag and class requirements related to Electrical, Automation and Navcom equipment
• Managing repairs and modifications within time and budget
• Contributing proactively to operational reliability and sharing valuable lessons learned into vessel operations, equipment design and new building specifications
• Managing lifecycle of Electrical, Automation and Navcom equipment in an optimal way
• Supporting upgrades, retrofits, and obsolescence management as part of continuous improvement
• Evaluating and supporting vendors and key suppliers together with colleagues from procurement and supply chain teams

We're looking for person with:

• Good experience and knowledge of Marine Electrical & Automation and Navigation & Communication equipment.
• Passion for engineering and ability to provide high quality technical support to vessels and shore teams
• Problem-solving flair combined with natural initiative and curiosity
• The ability to thrive with a variety of tasks and understand the big picture, even when things get busy
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – essential for collaborating with colleagues, vessel crew and the Travelling ETO pool
• Exceptional planning and structuring of work

We expect you also have:

• A university degree in Electrical or Electronics and Telecommunication
• An experience in OT networking and cybersecurity controls will be good
