Job summary

Siemens Energy in India seeks an Electrical Equipment Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in site installation and commissioning of MV/LV electrical equipment, including switchgear, UPS, transformers, and motors. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering as a minimum.
• Proven commissioning/installation experience of at least 10 years for electrical package equipment, mainly in Oil & Gas with international companies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges during commissioning.
• Willingness to travel extensively, with availability for travel abroad 70-80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on installation & commissioning of electrical packages and systems including MV, LV Switchgear, AC UPS, DC UPS, Batteries, Rectifiers, Inverters, DC-DC Converters, HV and LV transformers, MV and LV motors, MV VFDs.
• Carrying out initial or repeat tests on electrical protection and control systems, as well as system optimization and troubleshooting.
• Programming of protection relays and commissioning electrical control systems associated with HMI.
• Guiding technicians, punch list closure, and coordination with class approvals (DNV/ABS).

We are looking for an Electrical Equipment Commissioning Engineer with strong background in site Installation & commissioning experience of medium voltage, low voltage electrical equipment, including LV and MV switchgear, motors in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and/ or Energy Sector. Job position to be in India / need based travel outside India for Siemens Energy Projects. In a multinational team on site. You will be commissioning individual components or entire electrical systems and ensure quality & safety of our services. Effective communication with the international team is a crucial aspect of your role, and your goal is to contribute to the execution of the projects that meet the needs of the SE industry.

How You'll Make An Impact

Hands-on installation & commissioning of electrical packages and systems including MV, LV Switchgear, AC UPS, DC UPS, Batteries, Rectifiers, Inverters, DC-DC Converters, HV and LV transformers, MV and LV motors, MV VFD’s Etc..

Carrying out initial or repeat tests on electrical protection and control systems, as well as system optimization and troubleshooting.

Programming of protection relays.

Commissioning electrical control systems associated with HMI.

Proven commissioning/installation experience of at least 10 years for electrical package equipment (low / medium / high voltage equipment and systems) including MV, LV Switchgear, AC UPS, DC UPS, Batteries, Rectifiers, Inverters, DC-DC Converters, HV and LV transformers, MV and LV motors, MV VFD’s etc. mainly in Oil & Gas industry with international companies

Detailed knowledge of products such as MV, LV Switchgear, AC UPS, DC UPS, Batteries, Rectifiers, Inverters, DC-DC Converters, HV and LV transformers, MV and LV motors, MV VFD’s, Diesel Generators, relay parameterization, Control & Protection.

Able to conduct integrated FAT/SAT for E-Houses.

Deep understanding of project business, including customer approaches in typical Energy/Power, Oil & Gas / Petrochemical applications.

Software knowledge of AutoCAD will be an added advantage.

Willingness to travel extensively, with availability for travel abroad 70-80% of the time.

Fluency In English, With Outstanding Communication Skills.

A proactive attitude and a passion for learning and professional growth

Basic understanding of other design subject areas such as I&C, Mechanical, and Civil engineering to ensure alignment of project interfaces.
