The ideal candidate will review electrical BOMs, source local substitutes, and drive value engineering while partnering with Design, Purchase, Production, and Vendors to deliver measurable cost savings.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in electrical design and automation for OEM machine building.
• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens, Mitsubishi, Delta, and/or Inovance platforms.
• Extensive experience in electrical panel design, machine wiring, and automation systems.
• Proven experience in value engineering and BOM optimization.
• Strong understanding of import localization and alternate component development.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing electrical BOMs and identifying cost-reduction opportunities.
• Analyzing imported electrical components and identifying local/alternate sources.
• Suggesting alternate brands and technically equivalent specifications.
• Driving machine electrical cost reduction and value engineering.
• Reviewing and improving electrical panel design and architecture.
• Improving wiring, assembly, and electrical manufacturing processes.
• Standardizing PLC, HMI, VFD, Servo, and other automation platforms.
• Developing and maintaining Approved Vendor Lists (AVL).
• Supporting import sourcing from China, Taiwan, Korea, and India.
• Preparing detailed technical specifications for purchasing and vendor development.
• Supporting technical evaluation and approval of alternate makes.
• Developing reliable and cost-effective electrical component vendors.
• Identifying opportunities for import substitution and localization.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Independent Electrical Design & Automation Consultant with strong experience in machine-building industries to support electrical cost reduction, design standardization, value engineering, import localization, and vendor development for printing and post-printing machinery.

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in OEM machine building , preferably as an Electrical Design Head, Automation Manager, or equivalent senior technical position.

Key Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for:

• Reviewing existing electrical BOMs and identifying cost-reduction opportunities.
  
• Analyzing imported electrical components and identifying suitable local/alternate sources.
  
• Suggesting alternate brands and technically equivalent specifications .

Requirements

Required Experience

The ideal consultant should have:

• 15+ years of experience in electrical design and automation for OEM machine building.
  
• Strong hands‑on experience with Siemens, Mitsubishi, Delta, and/or Inovance platforms.
  
• Extensive experience in electrical panel design, machine wiring, and automation systems .
  
• Proven experience in value engineering and BOM optimization .
  
• Strong understanding of import localization and alternate component development .
  
• Experience in vendor development and technical vendor evaluation .
  
• Proven experience in alternate make approval and equivalent component selection .
  
• Experience with China/Taiwan sourcing and supplier development .
  

Preferred Industry Experience

Experience in one or more of the following industries is preferred:

• Printing machinery
  
• Packaging machinery
  
• Converting machinery
  

Proven Track Record

Candidates should be able to demonstrate successful experience in:

• Electrical BOM cost reduction
  
• Alternate make development and approval
  
• China/Taiwan component sourcing

Ideal Candidate

This opportunity is particularly suitable for a retired Electrical Design Head, Automation Manager, or senior Electrical/Automation professional from a reputed machine‑building/OEM company who has strong practical knowledge and an established understanding of electrical components, suppliers, machine design, and automation systems.

The consultant should be hands‑on, commercially aware, technically strong, and capable of working directly with Design, Purchase, Production, and Vendor Development teams to deliver measurable cost savings.
