Job summary

Holtec Asia in Pune, India, seeks an Electrical Engineer for the SMR-India Electrical Group to support design and development of electrical equipment for the SMR-300 program.

The role focuses on electrical equipment design, new product development, design optimisation, testing, and documentation. You will work on motors, generators, relays, switches, fuses, chargers, and coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in electrical equipment design or R&D.
• Hands-on design experience with motors, generators, relays, switches, fuses or chargers.
• Knowledge of IEC, IS, BIS or CE standards.
• Experience in industrial electrical equipment or manufacturing preferred.
• Desirable experience in nuclear, power or safety-critical industries.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical equipment and components.
• Lead new product development, design optimisation, and cost-reduction projects.
• Perform electrical testing, prototype evaluation, and design validation.
• Prepare technical specs, datasheets, BOMs, drawings, and docs.
• Review manufacturing issues and propose technical solutions.
• Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Utilise SAP, PLM, AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Make independent, informed technical decisions.

Holtec Asia seeks an Electrical Engineer for the SMR-India Electrical Group to support the design and

development of electrical equipment and systems for the SMR-300 program.

Primary responsibilities

The position will focus on electrical equipment design, new product development, design optimisation,

testing, and preparation of technical documentation. The role will involve working on motors, generators,

relays, switches, fuses, chargers, and other industrial electrical components, along with coordination with

suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in electrical equipment design, product development, or electrical R&D.
• Hands-on experience in the design or development of one or more of the following: motors, generators, relays, switches, fuses, chargers, or similar industrial electrical components.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as IEC, IS, BIS, or CE.
• Experience in industrial electrical equipment or electrical manufacturing is preferred.
• Prior experience in nuclear, power, energy, or other safety-critical industries is desirable.
