Job summary

ETAP Solutions, Mumbai, is seeking an electrical engineer with strong power system knowledge to deliver consulting and engineering support to clients worldwide. You will conduct power system analyses using ETAP, CDEGS, PLS-CADD, and related tools, and assist with training and support.

The role focuses on designing and reviewing electrical systems, solving tripping incidents, and providing actionable recommendations for reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering.
• 2–4+ years of working experience in power system studies or consulting.
• Strong knowledge of load flow, short circuit, motor start, transient stability, relay coordination, arc flash, harmonic analysis and reliability studies.
• Experience using ETAP or similar power system software.

• Design and review electrical systems including power distribution, industrial control, and renewables.

• Resolve technical queries on project reports and provide accurate information.
• Prepare reports and presentations/workshops for customers/clients.
• Provide training to ETAP customers on software usage.

We are looking for an electrical engineer who is passionate about the field of electrical engineering and has strong academic and practical knowledge of various aspects of power system studies. You will be responsible for providing electrical power system consulting and engineering support services to various clients spread across the world, using power system software such as ETAP, CDEGS, PLSCAD and other engineering tools. This includes performing power system analysis, designing and reviewing electrical systems, and troubleshooting electrical site issues and tripping incidents. It also includes providing training, helpdesk, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, motor start, transient stability, relay coordination, arc flash, harmonic analysis, electromagnetic interference studies, traction simulation studies, renewable energy system studies and many more using ETAP, CDEGS, PLSCAD, ETRAX software, etc.
• Designing and reviewing electrical systems, including power distribution systems, industrial control systems, and renewable energy systems.
• Troubleshooting electrical tripping, site incidents, failures, etc., and providing technical support to customers and clients.
• Providing solutions and recommendations for power system design, operation, and optimization based on the results of the studies.
• Resolving technical queries raised by the customers/clients on project reports and providing them with accurate and timely information.
• Preparing reports and presentations/workshops based on the project requirements and delivering them to the customers/clients in a professional manner.
• Providing training to ETAP customers on how to use the software effectively and efficiently.

Essential Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field from a recognized university or institution.
• Minimum 2-4+ years of working experience in a similar industry or equivalent.
• Proficiency in fundamental principles of electrical engineering and knowledge of electrical products and their workings.
• Strong working knowledge and experience in electrical power system studies. These include load flow, short circuit, motor start, transient stability, relay coordination, arc flash, harmonic analysis, and reliability studies. Knowledge/exposure to FACT devices such as SVC, STATCOM, active filters, and grid‑interconnected battery & energy storage system, grid‑integrated renewable generation, grid‑connected inverters, and inverter dynamics.
• Experience using ETAP software or other similar software for carrying out the power system studies.
• Desired skills: strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; basic computer skills related to creation of reports and presentations in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint; good communication and report‑writing skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
