Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in India seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and evaluate electrical components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for electrical engineering matters.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of engineering systems, calculations, and methods used in electrical engineering.
• Experience with preparation of technical specifications, datasheets, and vendor reviews for electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with load lists, MCC schedules, and electrical layouts (grounding, raceways, lighting).
• Ability to review 3D models (SPR/Navisworks) and coordinate with clients, vendors and subcontractors.

• Supervises day-to-day technical work of engineers, specialists, designers and drafters.

Job Summary

In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of electrical components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for electrical engineering matters. Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard electrical engineering techniques and criteria will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team.

Major Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews engineering work within a discipline on a project or assignment in a global business unit.
• Supervises the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, specialists, designers and drafters.
• Conducts annual performance reviews for direct reports in accordance with the approved procedures and holds career development discussions.
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
• Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to meet schedule dates.
• Coordinates with client representatives as delegated to obtain their approval on phases of work.
• Reviews and approves key engineering drawings and calculations, including field and design documents relating to the discipline.
• Coordinates assigned engineering work with other project groups.
• Ensures that engineers supervised receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
• Promotes the creation of a work environment, assisted by leadership, which fosters directness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Education And Experience Requirements

• A recognized bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical engineering, from an accredited college or university with an overall experience of minimum 3 years.
• Site experience will be an added advantage

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.
• Experience of preparing technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions and vendor print reviews for various electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of preparation of load list, MCC schedule etc.
• Experience in various electrical layouts like grounding, raceways and lighting etc.
• Review of 3D Model using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model.
• Reviews with Client, Vendor and Subcontractors.
• Knowledge of project controls within discipline.
• Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
• Basic skill in oral and written communication.
