Job summary

Virya Autonomous Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an Engineer - Electrical Harness Routing to join our Engineering team supporting next-generation autonomous mobile robot platforms and industrial vehicle systems.

You will own the routing and packaging of electrical wiring harnesses, converting schematic designs into routed, clip-located, manufacturing-ready assemblies in SolidWorks Electrical. This hands-on role requires methodical routing work, collaboration with mechanical and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3-7 years of electrical harness design experience.
• At least 2 years dedicated to routing in SolidWorks Electrical.
• Produce complete, manufacturable harness assemblies, not just schematics 2D drawings.
• Familiar with connector systems like Amphenol, TE Connectivity, Molex, Deutsch, or Wurth Elektronik.
• Knowledge of harness standards ISO 6722, SAE J1128, LV 112.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain routed harness assemblies in SolidWorks Electrical.
• Define routing paths through mechanical assemblies with proper clearances.
• Place and manage connector positions, clip locations, and grommets.
• Generate flattened harness drawings with accurate segment lengths and annotations.
• Synchronize schematic data with routing environment to maintain consistency.
• Generate BoMs for routed harnesses and maintain component libraries.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers on packaging and with vendors on routing feasibility.
• Release harness drawings and BoMs through the PLM/PDM system.
• Support prototype builds and update routes based on findings.

Job description

We are looking for an Engineer - Electrical Harness Routing to join our Engineering team supporting the build and integration of next-generation autonomous mobile robot platforms and industrial vehicle systems. In this role, you will own the complete routing and packaging of electrical wiring harnesses, converting schematic-level designs into routed, clip-located, manufacturing-ready assemblies in SolidWorks Electrical.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys methodical routing work, close collaboration with mechanical and manufacturing teams, and turning electrical architecture into harnesses that hold up on the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain routed harness assemblies in SolidWorks Electrical, including branch routing, bend radii enforcement, and segment length control.
• Define routing paths through mechanical assemblies with clearance from moving parts, heat sources, sharp edges, and high-voltage components.
• Place and manage connector positions, clip/clamp locations, and grommets consistent with the physical vehicle layout.
• Generate flattened harness drawings (formboard layouts) with accurate segment lengths, bend allowances, and attachment annotations.
• Synchronize schematic data from SolidWorks Electrical Schematic into the routing environment, keeping logical design and physical layout consistent.
• Select wire gauges and protection specs (conduit, braided sleeve, heat shrink) based on current load, voltage drop, bend frequency, and exposure.
• Generate BoMs from routed harnesses covering wires, connectors, seals, clips, and sleeving, and maintain SolidWorks Electrical component libraries.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers on clip bracket locations and packaging conflicts, and with manufacturing vendors on routing feasibility and DFM feedback.
• Release harness and installation drawings with associated BoMs through the PLM/PDM system, maintaining revision history.
• Support prototype builds and field feedback loops, updating routes and drawings based on build findings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-7 years of electrical harness design experience, with at least 2 years dedicated to routing in SolidWorks Electrical.
• Demonstrated ability to produce complete, manufacturable harness assemblies, not just schematics or 2D drawings.
• Solid understanding of harness construction: splice locations, twisted pairs, shielded cables, drain wires, and shield termination.
• Familiarity with connector systems from Amphenol, TE Connectivity, Molex, Deutsch, or Wurth Elektronik.
• Working knowledge of harness standards such as ISO 6722, SAE J1128, and LV 112.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring tables, and signal interface documents.
• Experience generating and validating flattened harness drawings for manufacturing use.
• Detail-oriented and methodical, with strong documentation discipline across models, drawings, and BoMs.
