ETAP, Dialux, Calculations-Transformer and Cable Sizing
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in ETAP and DIALux to join our team for an Oil & Gas project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fault analysis, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyse electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting systems, and grounding, using ETAP and DIALux.
- Perform electrical load flow, short-circuit studies, protection coordination, and system optimization using ETAP.
- Design and simulate lighting systems, including emergency and outdoor lighting, using DIALux to meet project specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and cable schedules.
- Conduct fault analysis and voltage drop calculations to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, instrumentation) to integrate electrical systems into the overall project design.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with industry standards, safety codes (NEC, IEC, IEEE, API), and client specifications.
- Participate in system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and systems.
- Provide technical support to the procurement and construction teams, ensuring the timely delivery and installation of electrical systems.
- Generate technical documentation, including reports, calculations, and system specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficiency in ETAP for electrical system design, load flow analysis, and protection coordination.
- Expertise in DIALux for designing and simulating lighting systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, lighting design, grounding systems, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes (NEC, IEC, IEEE, API, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Experience:
- Previous experience using ETAP and DIALux in electrical system design and analysis for Oil & Gas projects.
- Knowledge of electrical design and commissioning in hazardous environments (e.g., offshore platforms, refineries, petrochemical plants) is highly preferred.
