Recrew AI in Bengaluru is seeking an hands-on Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in BLDC motor control and drive system design to join our Bengaluru team. You will own the design, development, and optimization of motor driver electronics for spacecraft ADCS components—systems where precision, reliability, and efficiency are non-negotiable.

This role sits at the intersection of power electronics, embedded control, and space-grade hardware, offering collaboration with mechanical and firmware

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience designing BLDC motor driver circuits (gate drivers, MOSFETs, H-bridge/3-phase inverter topologies).
  • Demonstrated experience implementing FOC on embedded microcontrollers or DSPs.
  • Proficiency in PCB design using Altium Designer — schematic capture through layout and design rule checks.
  • Hands-on experience with motor characterization: torque-speed profiling, back-EMF measurement, and efficiency testing.
  • Working knowledge of PWM control strategies, dead-time compensation, and current sensing techniques.
  • Experience with embedded controllers for real-time motor control applications (STM32, TI C2000, or equivalent).
  • Hands-on lab skills: oscilloscope, power analyzer, dynamometer, and bench-level debugging of motor drive hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop BLDC motor driver circuits and PCBs for reaction wheel and torque rod assemblies
  • Implement and tune Field-Oriented Control (FOC) and PWM-based motor control algorithms on embedded controllers
  • Perform motor characterization — torque-speed curves, efficiency mapping, thermal profiling — to validate performance
  • Optimize motor drive systems for power efficiency, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • Collaborate with mechanical and firmware engineers to integrate motor control systems into ADCS subsystems
  • Define and execute test plans for motor driver validation, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
  • Support design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews and work with vendors to ensure production-ready designs

Position Overview

The company is looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in BLDC motor control and drive system design to join its Bengaluru team. Role & Responsibilities

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing electronics for space, defense, or other high-reliability environments (radiation tolerance, thermal vacuum)
  • Familiarity with CAN, RS-422, or SPI/I2C interfaces used in spacecraft avionics
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI design practices and experience with conducted/radiated emissions testing
  • Exposure to reaction wheel or momentum wheel systems in satellite ADCS applications
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for motor control modeling and simulation
