Job Overview

The Electrical Draftsman shall be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and modifying detailed electrical drawings, layouts related to electrical substations and associated infrastructure, MCR etc. The role requires strong proficiency in AutoCAD software and extensive experience in sub‑station layouts, equipment layout, MCR Layout, and electrical schematics, SLD, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, project specifications, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• The Electrical Draftsman shall prepare accurate and detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD, including sub‑station layout drawings, equipment general arrangement drawings, MCR equipment layouts, cable routing layouts, earthing layouts, control room layouts, and electrical schematics.
• The incumbent shall coordinate closely with electrical design engineers to understand design intent and translate engineering concepts into precise technical drawings. Responsibilities include revising drawings based on engineering inputs, site feedback, and client or consultant comments, while maintaining proper drawing control and revision history.
• Develop single line diagrams (SLD), general arrangement (GA), and layout drawings for substations
• Prepare equipment layouts (transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, CTs, PTs, breakers, isolators)
• Create earthing/grounding layout and details as per IEEE / IEC standards
• Develop lighting layouts, small power, and auxiliary AC/DC systems
• Draft interlocking and logic diagrams for protection and control schemes

Required Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma/bachelor’s degree in electrical.
• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical symbols, standards, and drawing practices
• Knowledge of MicroStation, EPLAN, or similar tools (added advantage)
• Ability to follow layer management, title blocks, and revision control
