Overview

You don't have to be an employee long before you understand the SSOE difference. It goes back to our history of reinventing ourselves for new markets, serious rates of growth year after year, and being ahead of the curve in technology. Those are the achievements of a company that rewards talent and effort in ways that mean the most to the individual.

We are looking for a Designer with strong AutoCAD (2D) experience to design schematics with power and interconnects, grounding, perform arc flash calculations, cable trays or wireway sizing, for the semiconductor/chip manufacturing industry. This group performs high volume and turns around packages quickly to meet schedules. The Senior Designer will perform design work as well as help build a local team by coaching and collaborating with other designers and engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Design Tool Installation packages. Packages include schematics, facility data, general routing, and details.
  • Create schematics to show tool components (Fab / Subfab) design power, interconnect routing, size cable trays or wireways for interconnects, size conduits, circuits.
  • Develop fab/Subfab partial plans for electrical routing and elevation details as required.
  • Create custom details as needed.
  • Calculate conductor/cable sizes, device overcurrent protective device (OCPD) ratings, equipment grounding conductor sizes for all Power and Class 1 circuits as per NEC requirements under guidance.
  • Calculate the Grounding Electrode Conductor (GEC) size per Tool Install Design Standards for separately derived systems (e.g., transformers).
  • Evaluate and calculate voltage drop, available fault current, and arc flash for each facility panel power circuit.
  • Calculate conductor/cable/bundle fill as per NEC for each raceway and cable tray.
  • Evaluate wire bending space within wireways, ensuring maximum conductor/cable size meets UL 870 standards.
  • Calculate storage box/tray sizes for excess cable storage.
  • Coordinate work with local designers and engineers.
  • Develop designs from supplier data (First of a Kind) under guidance.
  • Collaborate with other designers and engineers on primary and secondary power distribution systems, emergency power, UPS, focusing on redundancy and reliability.
  • Develop an understanding with other disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Architectural) for design package needs.
  • Ensure quality control by adhering to design and CAD standards.
Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

  • Full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of related experience required.
  • Experience reading electrical one-line diagrams, equipment location, and construction drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of NEC for electrical design (circuit sizing, system capacity, component ratings).
  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD required.
  • Experience with Revit, SKM, or EasyPower is a plus.
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
  • Experience in semiconductor or industrial design is a plus.
  • Willingness to work late hours to coordinate with international offices (10am-2pm and 8pm-12am).

Additional Perks Offered:

  • A collaborative and supportive culture where you’re valued.
  • Work on exciting projects with forward-thinking clients.
  • Encouragement of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Diverse market sectors, project types, and locations.
  • Clear career progression opportunities.
