Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of power systems and electrical machines.
• Transformer design principles including core, winding, losses and cooling methods.
• Hands-on experience in power transformer design.
• Familiarity with IEC/IS standards.
• Ability to interpret and create electrical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design tools.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and testing methods is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design power and distribution transformers including core, winding, insulation and cooling systems.
• Perform detailed electrical and mechanical design calculations (losses, impedance, thermal performance).
• Prepare and review technical drawings, GA drawings, BOMs, and design documents.
• Independently handle or support core and winding design activities.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure correct implementation of design specs.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing stages: core assembly, winding, tanking and final assembly.
• Participate in routine and type testing (IR, ratio, impedance, losses, temperature rise).
• Ensure IEC/IS standards and internal quality procedures are followed.
• Analyze test results and troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues.
• Support quality inspections and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain design records and technical reports.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience in power transformer design. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in transformer design, engineering calculations, and exposure to manufacturing and testing processes. You will play a key role in delivering reliable and efficient transformer solutions aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design power and distribution transformers including core, winding, insulation, and cooling systems
• Perform detailed electrical and mechanical design calculations (losses, impedance, thermal performance, etc.)
• Prepare and review technical drawings, GA drawings, BOMs, and design documents
• Independently handle or support core and winding design activities
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications
• Provide technical support during manufacturing stages: core assembly, winding, tanking, and final assembly
