Job summary

ALTEN INDIA PVT LTD in Pune seeks an Engineer-Electrical Design (Autocad) with 2–4 years of experience for Khadki site. You will lead electrical design from concept to completion, develop SLDs and schematics, and coordinate with cross-functional teams for seamless project execution.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, strong power/control knowledge, and proficiency in AutoCAD. On-site support and compliance with ISO8528/UL2200 are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Solid knowledge of electrical engineering, power and control systems.
• Experience with genset equipment and automation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical projects from concept to completion with scopes, schedules and budgets.
• Perform detailed electrical design calculations including transformer/generator sizing and cable sizing.
• Prepare SLDs, schematics, equipment layouts, cable schedules and data sheets.
• Liaise with mechanical, contractor, supplier, client and regulatory teams for smooth execution.
• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems on-site.
• Ensure designs comply with ISO8528, UL2200 and applicable standards.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing electrical projects from conceptualization to completion, including developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and managing resources to meet deadlines.
• Performing detailed electrical design activities and calculations, such as transformer sizing, generator set sizing, cable sizing, earthing/grounding calculations, and lighting calculations.
• Preparing detailed engineering documentation, including single-line diagrams (SLD), schematics, equipment layouts, cable schedules, and technical specifications/data sheets for components like alternators, switchgear, control panels, and circuit breakers.
• Liaising with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, contractors, suppliers, clients, and regulatory authorities to ensure seamless project execution and integration with other systems.
• Supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including gensets, control systems, and power distribution networks. This often involves on-site presence and technical support.
• Ensuring all designs and work comply with industry standards (e.g., ISO8528, UL2200)
• Providing technical expertise and problem-solving support for site-related or operational issues during project execution and ongoing maintenance.

Skills and Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is a standard requirement.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power systems, control systems, and automation technologies. Familiarity with specific genset equipment (diesel/gas generators, alternators, controllers) is crucial.
• Competence in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD,)
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team coordination skills are essential for managing diverse stakeholders and teams.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as electrical design engineer in genset manufacturing company
