Job summary

gevernova is looking for an EHS Specialist to support Vallam, Sriperambudur operations. The role focuses on implementing the GE Vernova EHS framework, sustainability and regulatory compliance across contractor and site teams.

You will lead EHS management for contractors, conduct risk assessments, ensure policy compliance, and drive training, incident handling, and stakeholder collaboration to promote safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EHS or related field.
• DISH-certified EHS professional as per regulatory requirements.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and related standards.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Tamil, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Establish EHS management framework for contractors.
• Conduct risk assessments and evaluate hazards at workplaces.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, Quality and related policies.
• Provide safety training to employees on safe practices and regulations.
• Investigate incidents, accidents and safety concerns.
• Conduct compliance assessments for safety and environmental regs.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and stakeholders to set standards.
• Communicate EHS requirements clearly to stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Possess a recognized bachelor’s degree
• Qualified, competent, and certified EHS Professional approved by Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health (DISH) from global/ national/ state approved institutes with minimum 5 yrs relevant work experience
• Expert knowledge of local EHS legislations
• Good computer skill using MS office (word, excel, power point)
• Experience with and knowledge of independent standards organizations and certification programs such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc
