Job Overview
The EHS Officer will be responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace across all manufacturing units of HCP Wellness. This role ensures adherence to statutory regulations, promotes a safety-first culture, and implements proactive measures to safeguard employees, equipment, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Factory Act, GPCB, Pollution Control, Fire & Safety, and Occupational Health regulations.
- Maintain and update all mandatory EHS documentation, permissions, and statutory records.
2. Workplace Safety Management
- Conduct daily safety inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, machine guarding, operational controls, and chemical handling procedures.
3. Chemical & Hazard Management (Specific to Cosmetics/Oral Care)
- Maintain MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for all raw materials.
- Ensure safe storage, labeling, and handling of chemicals, solvents, and active cosmetic ingredients.
- Monitor waste disposal as per GPCB norms.
4. Training & Awareness
- Conduct induction training for new employees on EHS.
- Execute periodic mock drills, fire drills, and emergency response training.
- Promote safety culture aligned with HCP Wellness values.
5. Incident & Risk Management
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor risk assessment programs for production, packing, and warehouse activities.
6. Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure the functioning of fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and emergency exits.
- Maintain emergency response plans for chemical spills, fire hazards, and equipment failures.
7. Cross-department Coordination
- Work closely with Production, QC, R&D, HR, and Maintenance teams to ensure compliance and safety integration in all processes.
Required Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Mandatory: EHS Certification, Industrial Safety Diploma, or NEBOSH/IOSH (preferred).
- Certification in Fire & Safety is an added advantage.
Hard Skills (Technical Skills)
- Knowledge of OSHA, Factory Act, GPCB norms, Environmental & Fire Safety standards.
- Strong understanding of chemical safety, MSDS, waste management, and spill control.
- Ability to conduct safety audits, hazard analysis (HAZOP), and EHS documentation.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards.
- Experience with emergency response planning and fire-fighting systems.

Preferred Experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience as EHS Officer/EHS Executive in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Cosmetics, Skin Care, Personal Care, Pharma, FMCG, or Chemical industry is highly preferred.
- Experience in handling chemical safety, audits, and regulatory inspections.
