Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Nagpur is seeking an experienced EHS Manager for Project (EHSMiP) to develop and maintain Environment, Health & Safety systems, ensuring a safe and compliant workplace across sites and projects.

You will lead policy implementation, risk assessments, audits, CAPA, and training, coordinating with authorities and contractors to uphold ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
• ADIS Diploma / Degree in Industrial Safety is mandatory.
• NEBOSH / IOSH / ISO Lead Auditor certifications are preferred.
• 8–12 years of relevant EHS experience.
• 3–8 years in Metro Telecom works.
• Proven experience in project operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, SOPs and safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with EHS legislation, state and central rules, and local permits.
• Conduct risk assessments (HIRA, JSA) and suggest controls.
• Lead investigations of incidents and implement CAPAs.
• Coordinate internal and external EHS audits and close nonconformities.
• Plan and conduct EHS induction, toolbox talks and emergency drills.
• Coordinate with authorities and ensure environmental norms compliance.
• Maintain EHS documentation and MIS dashboards for management.

We are looking for EHS Manager in Project (EHSMiP)

The EHS Manager shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective Environment, Health & Safety systems to ensure a safe, healthy, and legally compliant workplace. The role focuses on accident prevention, statutory compliance, environmental protection, and continual improvement of EHS performance.

You’ll make a difference by

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, SOPs, and safe work practices
• Ensure compliance with applicable EHS legislation, State & Central rules, and local statutory requirements
• Conduct risk assessments, HIRA, JSA, and recommend control measures
• Focus on high-risk activities such as Electrical safety, Lifting safety, Work at Height safety and Material Handling
• Lead incidents, accidents, near miss investigations and ensure corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
• Regulatory Compliance & Liaison
• Ensure timely compliance with statutory permits, licenses, renewals, and returns
• Liaise with government authorities such as traffic dept etc.
• Ensure adherence to environmental norms related to air, water, waste, hazardous chemicals, and effluents
• Training & Awareness
• Plan and conduct EHS induction, toolbox talks, safety training, mock drills, and emergency response training
• Create EHS awareness among employees, contractors, and visitors
• Promote safety culture and behavior-based safety initiatives
• Audits & Management Systems
• Implement and maintain ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 management systems
• Plan and conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits
• Close audit nonconformities and drive continual improvement
• Contractor & Site Safety
• Ensure contractor safety management, permit-to-work systems, and compliance
• Review method statements, SOPs, and safety plans for activities
• Conduct site inspections, safety walks, and compliance monitoring
• Emergency Preparedness
• Develop and implement Emergency Response Plans (ERP)
• Conduct mock drills for fire, chemical spill, medical emergencies, and other scenarios
• Coordinate with medical facilities, fire services, and emergency responders
• Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain EHS records, registers, MSDS, legal compliance documents, and reports
• Prepare EHS performance MIS, dashboards, and reports for management
• Analyze trends for incidents, unsafe acts, and conditions

Desired Skills
