Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an EHS professional to lead the implementation and maintenance of the EHS Management System at project sites in Hyderabad, India. You will monitor inspector performance, recruit staff, organize training, and ensure legal compliance across multiple sites.

You will advise the Project Manager on non-compliances, update EHS Plans, conduct risk assessments, and drive proactive safety improvements. The role requires hands-on leadership and collaboration with site teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in implementing EHS management systems.
• Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate implementation of EHS requirements at the workplace.
• Ensure implementation of the EHS Management System.
• Monitor the performance of EHS Inspectors.
• Recruit and select EHS Inspectors as per project requirements.
• Identify training needs and conduct EHS training for staff, visitors, subcontractors, and workmen.
• Evaluate compliance with applicable legal requirements.
• Advise Project Manager and CEHSM on EHS non-compliances and compliance requirements.
• Identify and incorporate project-specific legal requirements in Project EHS Plans.
• Conduct periodic site EHS inspections and report findings for corrective action.
• Act as a catalyst for Project EHS Committee activities.
• Review and appraise site EHS performance and drive improvements.
• Ensure proactive EHS performance monitoring through various monitoring systems.
• Prepare and update Project EHS Plans.
• Prepare EHS Risk Assessments and Safe Work Methods.
• Report EHS observations to Project Manager for continual improvement.
• Organize EHS campaigns, competitions, and special emphasis programs.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze incident trends and initiate corrective actions.
• Establish, implement, and maintain emergency preparedness and response procedures at project sites.
