Job summary

Acldigital is seeking a Sr. SDET Engineer in Ahmedabad to drive test automation for embedded firmware, IoT and mobile apps. You will design and implement robust automation frameworks using Python, Selenium, Cypress and related tools.

The role requires 4–8 years of hands-on testing experience, ISTQB certification preferred, ability to work across CI/CD pipelines and coordinate test planning, estimation and scheduling.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in SDET or related roles.
• Expertise in Python automation, embedded firmware and IoT testing.
• ISTQB Automation Testing certification is a plus.

• Hands-on experience in different techniques of Black Box Testing
• Hands-on experience in using various Test Management Tools and Bug Tracking Tools (e.g., TestRail, HP ALM)
• Experience in Embedded firmware, hardware testing, and mobile applications
• Test planning, estimation, and scheduling
• Experience & knowledge about Python Automation Framework & hands-on experience of Python Language
• Hands-on in automation testing, with a proven track record of designing and implementing test automation frameworks
• Experience with automation tools and frameworks like Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, etc.
• Certification in automation testing (e.g., ISTQB Advanced Level - Test Automation Engineer)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Expertise in Python-based development (data structures, list comprehension, regex, modules)
• Automation of remote data processing using modules like pexpect
• Hands-on experience & understanding of one or more Automation frameworks like Robot, GTest, py.test, etc.
• Working experience on Linux
• Cloud application, Cloud Services & APIs, Inter-cloud and could inter-operability testing
• Experience with IoT, Thread, Azure, Nest, Apple Home Kit, etc.
• Knowledge of the following tools: Jmeter, SoupUI / Postman, Appium, QTP, Selenium
• Debugging tools: Oscilloscope, Logic analyzer, GDB, PDB, Wireshark, Ixia, Spirent, Vectorcast, GTest, Monkey runner
• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Knowledge of BDD/TDD practices and tools like Cucumber or SpecFlow.
• Understanding of cloud-based testing environments and tools.
• Networking protocol, Devices, and application / L2-L3 testing with hands-on experience on tools like Ixia, Spirent, Wireshark, WireEdit

A professional with 4-8 years of experience holding a BE/ME/B.Tech/M.Tech degree in Electronics or IT. The candidate must be an expert in Python automation, have experience with embedded firmware and IoT testing, and be certified in automation testing (e.g., ISTQB). They should be flexible to travel internationally and have strong analytical and communication skills.

This role requires a highly specialized technical professional who leverages advanced Python skills - such as regex, memory manipulation, and remote data processing - to build and maintain custom automation frameworks like Robot or pytest. Beyond software development, the position functions as a hardware and firmware validator to test physical devices, embedded firmware, and IoT ecosystems like Thread and Apple HomeKit.
