Job summary

Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) New Delhi invites applications for an Editorial Design Intern to work within the Outreach team with a balanced blend of design skills and editorial expertise to support the creation of high-quality institutional knowledge products, including our flagship Annual Report.

This role is ideal for someone who can move fluidly between refining text and producing compelling visual elements, ensuring our publications are both editorially sound and visually

Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite for design and illustration.
  • Strong eye for visual storytelling and editorial quality.
  • Proven proofreading and copyediting skills.
  • Familiarity with end-to-end editorial and design workflows.
  • Ability to manage multiple publication projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Annual Report content and visual direction.
  • Provide proofreading and copyediting support for publications.
  • Design publication elements: covers, dividers, editorial illustrations, infographics, and data visuals.
  • Coordinate with designers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support research, proposals, and outreach materials.

Overview

CEEW seeks an Editorial Design Intern to work within the Outreach team with a balanced blend of design skills and editorial expertise to support the creation of high‑quality institutional knowledge products, including our flagship Annual Report . This role is ideal for someone who can move fluidlybetween refining text and producing compelling visual elements, ensuring our publications are both editorially sound and visually engaging.

Key Responsibilities
1. Annual Report Development
  • Reviewinternal and external resources on CEEW’s institutional activities to gathercontent.
  • Draft,refine, and format narrative content in alignment with organisational style andbranding.
  • Coordinateinputs from different teams and ensure a cohesive editorial.
  • Ideateand research potential visual directions.
2. Editorial Production
  • Providelight-touch proofreading and copyediting support for publications, briefs, and decksto ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to CEEW’s editorial guidelines.
  • Maintaineditorial and design hygiene, ensuring consistency in formatting, typography,and layout.
  • Organisepublication assets and maintain records for knowledge management.
  • Conceptualiseand design publication elements such as covers, section dividers, editorialillustrations, infographics, and data visualisations.
  • Ensuredesign alignment with CEEW’s brand identity.
  • Designpresentation decks and visual assets for publications and related outreach.
4. Workflow & Coordination
  • Liaisewith designers, vendors, and internal stakeholders for smooth productionprocesses.
  • Apply andadhere to CEEW’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in all workflows.
5. Research & Proposal Development
  • Support background research,benchmarking, and idea generation for special outreach and publicationprojects.
  • Assist in preparingcommunication-related proposals, concept notes, and drafts forinternal/external stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experiencewith Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator,Photoshop) or alternative design softwares for design and illustration.
  • A strongeye for visual storytelling.
  • Strongcommand of written English with proven proofreading and copyediting skills.
  • Familiaritywith end-to-end editorial and design processes for publications.
  • Strongorganisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Preferred
  • Experiencein creating infographics and other data-driven visuals.
  • Knowledgeof accessibility standards in publications.
