AMD is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to join a core team focused on improving performance of key applications and benchmarks. The role requires leadership to drive complex issues to resolution and collaboration with cross-functional teams across AMD.

The ideal candidate will have a strong C++ background, experience with concurrent programming, Linux development, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software on schedule. A hands-on leadership style is required.

Qualifications

Lead Software Development Engineer

THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for an influential software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strong object-oriented programming background in C++
• Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail
• Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs
• Experience with Linux operating system development
• Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in a hands-on software engineering, development, and/or architectural leadership role
• B.E/B.Tech/B.S or M.E/MS in CS, EE or CE with 12+ years of software development experience
• Solid knowledge of software fundamentals
• Strong C++ Development background and exposure to large design patterns based codebase
• Background in EDA tools preferred
• Consistent record in engineering execution, delivery software on time with high quality and achieving premium high-performance software solutions
• Proven track record of planning and delivering complex system software products
• Experience leading multiple projects with competing priorities
• Strong project management skills and experience with project management techniques such as scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
• Disciplined approach to problem solving and ability to make business decisions in a technical environment
• Strong Interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
• Self-motivated with an ability to multi-task

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 12+ years of experience
