Job summary

Narayana Health is seeking a skilled echocardiography technician to support diagnostic imaging in the cardiology department. You will perform echocardiograms and Doppler studies, explain procedures to patients, and assist with preparing them for testing.

You will record vital data (BP, heart rate and rhythm), maintain equipment, compile and report echocardiographic records, and help train fellows and staff. You will also relay post‑test findings to physicians for further analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assists in scheduling patients requiring an echocardiogram.
• Completes and distributes completed reports, digitized studies and videotapes as needed.
• Records data, calculations, and measurements of echocardiograms according to its anomaly.
• Compiles, maintains, and reports echocardiographic records and statistical information per established policies and procedures.
• Performs echocardiograms and Doppler studies and explains procedures to patients and/or guardians.
• Records data of Blood Pressure, heart rate and rhythm.
• Maintains echocardiography and other equipment in efficient operating order.
• Assists with training fellows, visiting physicians, medical students and staff in the performance and interpretation of echocardiogram and Doppler studies.
• Gathers patient medical history, explains testing procedures, and prepares the patient for procedures (e.g., treadmill).
• Monitors the patient’s status and notes any abnormalities.
• Reports post-test findings to the patient’s doctor for further analysis.
• All other work assigned by management / HOD time to time.
