Job summary

Dexcom India Operations Private Limited is seeking a hardware CAD engineer to support design, drafting, and documentation of PCBs, fixtures, and electro-mechanical assemblies across engineering disciplines. You will work with Cadence and Altium to develop parts and assemblies, release specifications into the PLM system, and contribute to CAD library maintenance and documentation.

Collaboration with quality, manufacturing, and IT is essential, with a focus on data integrity and process

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Cadence and Altium for part modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
  • Experience supporting electrical design and drafting for hardware products, including PCB documentation.
  • Familiarity with drawing release workflows, configuration control, and documentation in regulated/quality-driven environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and drafting activities using Cadence and Altium for PCBs, fixtures, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Prepare, modify, and release specs and packages into the PLM system with accuracy and alignment to engineering and quality requirements.
  • Assist in CAD administration, including reviews, approvals, and enforcing modeling and data standards to maintain data integrity.
  • Maintain CAD libraries, templates, and standards used across engineering teams.
  • Contribute to writing of technical documents, process documentation, and lab reports.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining Bills of Materials for various products.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Mechanical, Electrical, Quality, Manufacturing, and IT teams.

Meet the team:

As a member of the Engineering Tools team, you will enable multidisciplinary Engineering teams by supporting design and drafting of components, fixtures, and assemblies. You’ll work across Schematic, Layout, Design, PLM, and Technical Writing activities to enable the research and development of Dexcom’s products.

Where you come in:
  • You will support design and drafting activities using Altium and Cadence, contributing to the development of PCBs, parts, fixtures, and electro‑mechanical assemblies.
  • You will prepare, modify, and release specs and packages into the PLM system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with engineering and quality requirements.
  • You will help ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) by following established processes and contributing to continuous improvement of documentation and workflows.
  • You will perform CAD administration support, including reviews, approvals, and enforcement of modeling, drafting, library and data standards to maintain high data integrity.
  • You will assist with the maintenance and improvement of CAD libraries, templates, and standards used across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • You will perform and assist with writing of technical documentation, specifications, process documentation and lab reports.
  • You will assist in creating maintenance of Bill of Materials for various commercial and non-commercial products
  • You will assist in cross functional CAD work with the Mechanical engineering team.
  • You will assist in running electrical simulations , Ecad /Mcad high priority
What makes you successful:
  • You bring hands‑on experience with Cadence and Altium, including part modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings; experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar PDM/PLM systems is preferred.
  • You have experience supporting electrical design and drafting for hardware products, with familiarity designing or documenting small PCBs, fixtures, and electro‑mechanical assemblies.
  • You have formal training or education in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related discipline, with a solid understanding of hardware development and product lifecycle processes.
  • You have a working understanding of drawing release workflows, configuration control, and documentation practices in regulated or quality‑driven environments.
  • You possess strong communication and problem‑solving skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with engineers, quality, manufacturing, and IT partners.
  • You demonstrate an eye for process improvement, with an interest in standardization, efficiency gains, and opportunities for automation within engineering workflows.
  • Experience with Solidworks or Onshape is a plus.
  • Experience with Ansys tools is a plus.

Experience and Education Requirements: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline, and a minimum of 3-5 years related experience or master’s degree and 2 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years’ experience
