Job description

Eaton India Technology Center (EITC) is driven by the key objective of global value creation with a strong focus on operational contribution and excellence. There are three Centers of Excellence for Web Development, PLM/ PDM (Matrix One) and Business Intelligence. The center is currently addressing the enterprise IT needs through Global & Regional Projects, ERP & Financial Integrations, Global Infrastructure, Framework Services & Business Intelligence, Enterprise Data Management Services, Security & Compliance, Site Infrastructure Services, Customer Facing Solutions and Operational Excellence.

Job Summary:
Eaton Information Technology Center has an opening for the VP Information Technology position that is part of the Chief Information Technology Officer’s corporate team and reports directly to the EVP/CIO of the company. This position is responsible for leading and managing the technology information center team based in Pune with approximately 400+ engineers and technologists to develop and implement innovative and effective IT solutions that drive business growth and optimize organizational efficiency. In addition, this role will be responsible for providing overall leadership and direction for the Center working in close collaboration with the CIO staff and the global business leaders.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy development: Developing and implementing an EITC technology strategy aligned with the organization’s overall business objectives and goals. Strategic mindset to look forward to building the organizational capabilities, leveraging new technology and driving execution.
  2. Team leadership: Leading and managing a team of technology experts, ensuring that they are aligned with the organization’s goals, and motivating them to deliver results. Develop a high performing, empowered and accountable culture across the organization. Bring a passion for selecting and developing a team of well-rounded technical leaders focused on driving technological innovations.
  3. Technical leadership: Providing technical leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring that they have the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to deliver high-quality solutions.
  4. Collaboration and stakeholder management: Collaborating with other teams across the organization and managing stakeholders to ensure that IT solutions are aligned with their needs and priorities.
  5. Innovation: Staying abreast of the latest technology trends and innovations, identifying opportunities for their application within the organization, and leading the development of new and innovative IT solutions.
  6. Performance management: Setting and tracking performance metrics for the team and ensuring that they are meeting or exceeding expectations.
  7. Budget management: Managing the budget for the IT CoE, ensuring that it is used effectively and efficiently to deliver the desired results.
  8. Leadership: Be the brand ambassador for Eaton and the Information Technology Center with university connect, industry forums and customer events. Align team structure according to local requirements and integrate closely with the group IT needs.

Overall, the IT CoE leader in India plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization’s technology strategy is aligned with its business objectives and that the IT team is delivering high-quality, innovative solutions that drive business growth and optimize organizational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills :

Education Level Required:
Master’s degree preferred in business administration, computer science, data science, information science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Technical Skills:

  1. Advanced understanding of the business or functional Strategic Plan and process.
  2. Advanced to SME understanding of some of the business processes at Eaton or a prior Company.
  3. Intermediate to advanced understanding of financial processes.
  4. Advanced understanding of business industry trends and applicability to operations or functions.
  5. Advanced to SME understanding of some of Eaton key applications.
  6. Advanced to SME understanding of integration and impact points of involved systems globally for a division or function.
  7. Proven experience of exhibiting a digital mindset through fostering agility and innovation.

Soft Skills:

  1. Executive presence and communication skills and relationship building and influence.
  2. Organizational change management skills.
  3. People development and ability to drive high employee engagement.
  4. Self-motivated, self-directed, problem solver who can assess and develop strategies for anticipating and achieving customer needs.
