An established industry player is seeking a Data Engineer to support data applications and integrations within a dynamic Supply Chain ecosystem. This role involves hands-on development, linking new data sources, and addressing bugs and enhancements. What you’ll do:
The Data Engineer will be supporting several data applications and data integrations in Eaton’s Supply Chain ecosystem. Primarily development, linking new data sources, but also support tasks for bugs and enhancements. The person will work in a team of 8-10 people, in a group of >20 and a department of >60 within the Integrations and Data Management Organisation.
Eaton is currently in the process of migrating from Oracle and Hadoop Databases (Cloudera) to Azure and AWS. However, Oracle and Hadoop will be used and supported for some years going forward. Consumer visualisations are in QlikView and will be more in PowerBI. Data ingestion with SOA is very useful, but Informatica and other tools are used.
The role is based in our Pune office and working from the office at least 3 days per week is expected. The role is end to end, hands-on, planning, coding, testing, coordinating and learning. There is a lot of dealing with stakeholders in India, Europe and the US, so 2nd shift work patterns are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Understanding the needs of the business through dialogue with stakeholders.
Alignment with Product Owners of the acceptance criteria for Stories.
Understanding the technical tools and complexity and planning the build solutions for delivering on User Stories.
Collaborating with other team members, including Engineers, Business Analysts, and Architects to plan the best solutions.
Sizing tasks, and to make the backlog timing transparent and visible.
Completing and managing development and data ingestion tasks, yourself or working with other supporting resources.
Dealing with issues raised in a timely, effective and efficient manner (raised through Service Now).
Essential Functions:
Involves working in a highly matrixed organization spanning domestic and international locations.
Responsible for process, standards, governance and performance of the shared structures and technical environments.
Aware of industry automation trends, contribute in identifying and resolving business cases, develop prototypes and proofs of concept.
Collaborate with business and development teams to drive robust testing methodologies.
Work within operational and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as: B.E / BTech / MCA / Equivalent (EITC) or B.S. Comp Sci / Mathematics / Engineering / Equivalent.
5+ years of relevant industry experience.
Good experience of Oracle SOA/OSB.
Experience of both SQL/On Premise and Cloud Databases.
Experience in data migration.
Demonstrate experience of full software development life cycle including requirements, design, development, unit testing.
Business process mapping skills.
Strong data modelling.
Strong in Structured Query Language (SQL/PLSQL).
Strong in basic programming preferred .net or C# or Java or Python.
Strong in Oracle SOA/OSB.
Google Apigee desirable.
OBIEE/Oracle Big Data desirable.
Hadoop Cloudera desirable.
Azure Synapse desirable.
Python/PySpark desirable.
PowerBI desirable.
Informatica (cloud/IDMC) desirable.

Skills:
