Chevron seeks an Early Phase Earth Scientist to deliver technical subsurface support for asset growth across brownfield and early greenfield opportunities. The role covers seismic interpretation, well log integration, 3D reservoir modelling, and data integration to maturate resources to reserves.
The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams, mentor peers, and apply advanced workflows to deliver high-quality reservoir management work products and project deliverables.

The Early Phase Earth Scientist is responsible and accountable for delivering technical support to business segments to enable asset growth through brownfield and post-initial investment decision greenfield opportunities. The successful candidate should have broad experience across geology and geophysics disciplines and will deliver subsurface characterization that may include seismic interpretation, well log and surveillance data integration, 3D reservoir modelling, resource maturation, well maturation, and technology deployment.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:0 AM to 5:0 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
Deep knowledge of subsurface data and workflows including a high level of fluency with reservoir characterization, stratigraphy, static model interrogation, manipulation & building, field development planning, as well as well planning and execution experience. Experience with subsurface modelling workflows and data integration (e.g. dynamic modelling, mechanical earth modelling, petrophysics, geophysics) is also needed for the role. Experience with digital/data projects and/or agile project management is a plus. A breadth of upstream experience would be beneficial including: reservoir management, progression of major capital projects, new field start-up, and base business. Deepwater and gas field experience not required, but desirable.
Successful candidate must be self-directed, be comfortable working with technical and business uncertainty – and deliver – under tight deadlines when needed. Ability to effectively align team members and management, providing clear, logical, and concise recommendations. Takes initiative, develops, and shares best practices, consistently seeks to improve existing processes and champions functional excellence.

Must be able to develop and maintain effective professional relationships with peers, management, JV partners and stakeholders across functions (e.g. across Asset Development, Major Capital Project Factory, Operations, Planning & Commercial, Functional teams). Demonstrated history of constructively challenging, successfully influencing outcomes, mentoring, and transferring knowledge. Demonstrated history of successfully working with highly competent JV partners. Strong and effective communicator.
