Position Summary:
Ametek’s Specialty Metal Products (SMP) Business Unit is seeking an HR Manager with a passion for the HR profession, a desire to grow their career, an attention to detail, critical thinking skills and high intellectual curiosity. This role offers multi-site responsibility and is ideal for a motivated professional looking to advance their career. This position will report directly to the BU HR Director and may be based in either Eighty Four, PA, or Lancaster, PA.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, heavy manufacturing environment where safety is a priority. As the primary HR resource for employees at our Eighty Four, PA and Lancaster, PA locations, this role will also provide HR leadership and oversight of the Senior HR Generalist at our location in Wallingford, CT. A strong performer will be able to grow their career as they achieve success. The successful candidate will welcome the blend of hands-on and front-line HR work, including payroll & HRIS administration, talent acquisition, new hire orientation, performance management, attendance, benefits/leave of absence administration, and data analysis and reporting. The candidate will develop expertise in systems like ADP Enterprise, Success Factors, ADP Workforce, and LinkedIn Recruiter. This position requires precision under high expectations and accountability, with contributions to areas outside of HR.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage organizational programs relative to employee development, retention, performance management, onboarding, career development, and succession planning to ensure a talent pipeline that will successfully enable current strategies and future growth.
  • Partner with hiring managers to evaluate talent needs and ensure acceptable staffing levels (current and future). Manage the full recruiting process. Focus on interviewing and selection to ensure a consistent, high-quality talent pipeline. Assist hiring managers with the effective use of selection criteria and onboarding tools.
  • Deliver efficient and effective HR processes for payroll administration, staffing, HRIS data management, performance management, attendance, benefits/leave administration, and data reporting.
  • Utilize recognized process improvement tools to eliminate waste in existing practices and institute standard work.
  • Ensure and maintain compliance with state, federal regulations, and Ametek’s organizational policies and guidelines.
  • Provide daily onsite employee relations support across multiple shifts.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required. Masters in Human Resources or MBA is desired.
  • At least 5 years of broad-based Human Resources experience, including talent acquisition, leave management, labor relations, and performance management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of results achievement, demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to schedule work hours outside of traditional business hours as needed.
  • Experience with ADP, ADP Workforce, and SuccessFactors is desirable.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Is able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Remains calm under pressure and can lead through difficult situations.
  • Ability to interact and influence with confidence, building trust and rapport. Is capable of providing courageous and decisive advice.
  • Strong time management and project management abilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (particularly Microsoft Office).
  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Employee Type: Salaried

Salary Minimum: $100,000

Salary Maximum: $150,000
