Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of power plant electrical systems and HT/LT equipment
• Experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA and automation systems
• Knowledge of maintenance techniques and safety regulations
• Excellent communication and team management abilities
• Proficient in SAP and MS Office; good planning skills

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability and reliability of electrical and instrumentation systems for CPP and WHR on shift
• Monitor HT/LT equipment, transformers, motors, protection systems, PLC/DCS and field instruments
• Coordinate with operations to ensure uninterrupted plant operation and timely restorations
• Lead and guide shift personnel for safe maintenance and operation
• Monitor KPIs like OEE, MTBF and MTTR; implement continuous improvements

(Functional and Administrative)No of Reportees : Purpose of the job:

• To ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted operation of all Electrical and Instrumentation systems of CPP and WHR during the shift.
• To maintain availability and reliability of Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation and Control systems for achieving targeted power generation.
• To monitor and coordinate preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities during the shift.
• To ensure compliance with statutory, safety and electrical regulations.
• To lead and guide shift personnel for efficient operation and maintenance of E&I systems.

Job Description:
Plant availability:

• Ensure availability and reliability of Electrical and Instrumentation systems of CPP and WHR.
• Monitor health of HT/LT equipment, Transformers, Motors, Protection Systems, PLC/DCS and field instruments.
• Coordinate with operations team for uninterrupted plant operation.
• Ensure timely restoration of equipment during breakdowns.

Supporting Actions

• Monitor operating parameters of critical electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Ensure proper functioning of switchgears, relays, UPS, batteries and emergency systems.
• Carry out regular inspection of critical equipment.
• Monitor and rectify abnormalities during the shift.
• Maintain equipment history and shift records.

Cost:

• Control maintenance expenditure and optimize resource utilization.

• Monitor electrical consumables and spare parts consumption.
• Optimize manpower deployment during maintenance activities.
• Implement cost reduction and energy conservation initiatives.
• Control inventory of critical spares and consumables.
