Job summary

Sterling & Wilson in Mumbai is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with 8–10 years of experience to manage on-site activities for Chilled Water projects. You will read layouts, review contract clauses, and coordinate with HVAC, Plumbing & Firefighting teams.

You will lead installation testing and commissioning, coordinate with vendors for on-time material delivery, handle safety documentation, and oversee quantity take-offs and billing.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret chilled water, condenser water, duct, plant room, and fan layouts.
• Understand contract clauses and project scope limits.
• Discuss with client/GC to resolve issues and monitor progress.
• Installation testing and commissioning of chilled water systems.
• Coordinate with vendors for timely material delivery on site.
• Coordinate with HVAC, plumbing and firefighting teams to minimize changes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting contractors to minimize field changes.
• Manage resources including manpower, space, tools, and tackles.
• Measure and bill project progress; follow up payments.
• Coordinate with client to establish extra work and profit margins.
• Quantity take-off from approved drawings and coordinate with site team.

Job description

• Shall able to read Chilled water/condenser Water Pipe Layout /Duct Layout /Plant Room Layout /Fan Layout.
• Should able to understand the Contract clauses and project scope limit.
• Discussion with Client / GC on progress and resolving issues.
• Installation Testing & commissioning of Chilled Water System .
• Coordination with Client to establish the Extra work.
• Coordinating with vendors for proper delivery of material on site.
• Proper coordination with HVAC, Plumbing & Firefighting contractors so that minimum changes can occur after installation.
• Resources management in terms of manpower, Space, tools & tackles etc.
• Measurement & billing for the Project with payment follow-up.
• Handling the safety documentation & supervision of safety related activities.
• Improve the profit margin as far as possible with building the relationship with client for future projects.
• Quantity Take off as per Approved Drawing / GFC drawing issue to Site and coordination with Site Team.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma in Mech Engineering
