Job summary

The/Nudge Institute in India is seeking a field-based Program Manager to work with state SRLMs, advancing the graduation approach and economic inclusion for rural women and communities. You will drive community-level activities, coordinate with district teams, and ensure high-quality implementation across districts.

Applicants should be graduates with 4–6 years in development, willing to travel; a two-wheeler and valid license are required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree required; post-graduate preferred in fields like rural development, rural management, agriculture, forestry, social work, anthropology.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and embody The/Nudge Spirit and SRLMs.
  • Ensure all project activities are implemented on time with quality as per SOPs.
  • Coordinate with DMMU and BMMU for smooth project implementation.
  • Lead capacity building trainings and organize project events at regional/district levels.
  • Ensure timely planning, data collection, processing and reporting to offices.
  • Support monitoring and evaluation of projects; maintain good stakeholder relations at grassroots level.

The/Nudge is an action institute building resilient livelihoods to alleviate poverty. We work with women, farmers, tribals and youth on rural development, agriculture, skilling and economic inclusion, along with 15+ central and state government partners.

Our economic inclusion journey for 25 million Indians, has reached 10 states with $250M of government funding to cover 1.25M people. What are we solving for?

We are solving for households in poverty who are also financially and socially vulnerable through a targeted, multi-faceted, and sequenced model called the graduation approach, which has demonstrated that we can durably pull households out of poverty.

At The/Nudge Institute, we are in the process of catalyzing the propagation of the same. Our purpose is to contribute to making the most excluded individuals a contributing member to the economy:

Enable govt to adopt by providing research, design, and implementation support

Continue to implement on its own to iterate the design for impact at scale

Enable more NGOs to adopt technical and capacity-building support

Continue to generate data on poverty and evidence on graduation approach to nudge governments to adopt at-scale

Build technology solutions for NGOs and governments to adopt and implement at scale & with quality.

What will you do?

The/Nudge is working with various state SRLMs to help increase adoption of the graduation approach/ economic inclusion program by targeting vulnerable rural women through community institutions.

  • To understand and practice the Spirits of The/Nudge Institute and the respective SRLMs
  • Ensure all project activities are implemented on time with utmost quality as per approved Project Implementation Plan (PIP)/ Standard Operating Procedure (SoP)/ Package of Practice (PoP)/ Community Operational Manual (COM) in the respective districts.
  • Support the district in projects under PVTG Domain.
  • Coordinate with DMMU and BMMU to ensure smooth implementation of the project .
  • Coordinate and facilitate in organizing capacity building training of project team and community.
  • Coordinate and lead in organizing any project related event at regional and district.
  • Coordinate and support in any field visits of dignitaries and officials.
  • Ensure timely planning and implementation of project activities.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting related to the project to respective offices.
  • Facilitate the timely collection/ entry, processing and reporting of data.
  • Support and practice monitoring & evaluation of projects.
  • Good stakeholder management at the grassroots level.
Who are we looking for in this role?
  • Candidate must be graduate; post-graduate will be preferred, in relevant streams like rural development, rural management, agriculture, forestry, social work, anthropology etc.
  • Candidate must have 4-6 years of relevant experience in the development sector/ rural development projects/ poverty eradication projects/ livelihood promotion projects/ tribal development projects.
  • Candidate with work experience working in district-level positions in National Rural Livelihood Mission/ State Rural Livelihood Missions in Institution Building, Capacity Building, Social Inclusion, Social Development, and Livelihood promotion will be preferred.
  • The candidate must have her/his own two-wheeler with a valid driving license as it is a field job.
